Welcome to my Pastry Shop "Casa dos Ovos Moles"!
You´ll learn to cook the most famous portuguese pastry, the Pastel de nata (portuguese custard tart). You´ll taste if not the best, the freshest one. It´s on your hands!
In a very homy way you discover how to make the pastel de nata from the scratch, including the puff pastry. It´s all handmade. First we cook it an the end we taste the delight with a Porto wine or a Ginja liquor, tchim tchim. You know that the pastel de nata recipe was created inside a monestary? I tell you the History!
It can be schedule Monday to Friday - 11.30H, 15H or 17H (1.30H duration), or Saturday at 17H.

I am the co-funder of a project called "casa dos ovos moles em lisboa", a pastry shop specialized in the 500 years old portuguese pastry called "conventual pastry", populary known as "ovos moles". We have the mission to put the divine pastry in the world mouths.

Welcome to "Casa dos Ovos Moles em Lisboa", a divine pastry shop! It´s specialized in conventual pastry, the 5 centuries-old pastry created inside the convents by the nuns. Popularly known as "Ovos Moles" and famous for its recipes: pastel de nata, toucinho do céu, pastel de tentugal, pão de ló de ovar, ovos moles de aveiro, ...dozens of pastries that enchanted kings, inspired poets, and conquered a place in portuguese History.

A truly fantastic experience, Filipa was really great teacher. I have very little baking experience but with her fun instruction we made awesome pastry. Thank you for a great time!

We are a bit disappointed. We paid €45 to watch someone else make pastei del nata. We could have watched a YouTube film instead. Host was friendly and talked a lot about history of pastry. That was nice.

The experience was ok. I think the costs don’t match the interactivity nor the quantity of pastry that one goes home with. I also took issue with the class time changing a few hours before class and a lack of explanation or communication w the instructor right before which I thought was unprofessional. While I thought the instructor told a good story about the history - the class left me wanting more. Just my opinion.

O workshop foi muitíssimo bem cuidado pela Sra. Filipa. Paciente, cuidadosa, simpática e extremamente didática, se mostrou mais doce que os pastéis de nata.

Perfect! This pastel de nata class with Filipa was sooo enjoyable. We started off our experience with an espresso, and then we started her masterclass in making the traditional Portuguese pastry. Filipa allowed us to be completely hands-on. We mixed the filling together, but the most fun was making the puff pasty from scratch. After the pastries were baked, we sat down and enjoyed a delicious glass of port and had a wonderful conversation with Filipa. All in all, a completely fun and enjoyable experience! A++++

Based on the respection, I asked before the class if I could record some small videos and to keep it (each clip is only 10-20 seconds). The host agreed but actually I couldn't record videos in class with the host’s arrogant and bad attitude. Others also recorded video and took pictures at the same time, but he was gladly accepted by host, I’m not sure what is the reasons to cause the unfair treatment (I thought it was polite to ask about recording the video in advance , but I was treated unreasonably by the host). The whole experience made me feel very bad. In addition, there is no recipe provided in the class, the host said that it will be sent by mail after class, but it has not been received over ten hours after class. Moreover, not every step can be involved, so if you are learning purpose, this course is not really recommended. If you think getting three “pastel de nata” and tasting a glass of wine (50cc) is worth 45€, you can try it.
