It is among the most booked and best valued cooking experiences in Puglia, the only one in Polignano a Mare to offer a cooking class on Apulian pasta : "ORECCHIETTE".

This experience is as much about food as it is about ingredients.
Olive oil EVO, tomatoes, fava beans and peas, figs and much more all produced by us organically.

As a welcome you will be offered seasonal fruit picked from my orchard.
I will tell you how to live in the countryside between animals and genuine flavors amplify our sense of belonging to a world to protect and preserve.

Next, guests will learn to make two types of PASTA: ORECCHIETTE & CAVATELLI, the typical pasta of the Apulian Sunday, by hand.
They will be involved in an outdoor cooking experience between flowers and authentic nature. I will share with you ancient recipes and secrets inherited from my grandmother.

While we wait for the fresh pasta to dry under the sun just like tradition we will visit the vegetable garden from which you can taste vegetables and fruits at the moment directly from the field.

Next, Finally at the table! We will taste our fresh handmade pasta with excellent sauces and pizza of onion and homemade focaccia, local wine.

Knead the PASTA for me is therapeutic, regenerating, it is a way to create, it is returning to feel the smells that have accompanied me throughout childhood and relive magical moments. Living in the countryside I became passionate about the true flavors that the field can offer us, we only eat fresh and seasonal products. I started having a vegetable garden and surrounding myself with flowers and fruit trees. I have a wonderful family and a five year old daughter!

The location is my house, you : typical "trulli". It is a thousand year old dwelling consisting of two trulli and an ancient tower. the house is surrounded by secular olive oil, almond, figs and cactus fruits and the vegetables garden. The location is in one of the oldest countryside of Polignano: Santa Barbara. In my garden under two beautiful boucanville we will make pasta and then we will visit the vegetable garden, an ancient citrus grove...

This was exactly what I was looking for. We (my 2 sons and myself) arrive a bit late but was greeted with smiles from Lucia and she got straight into it. She shows us her garden and lovely produce from her garden. Then into make pasta, her teaching was perfect and her demonstration for my son’s had them involved the whole way through. She then cooked and we had a perfect lunch of pasta that we had just made. Lucia English is good and she was great with my boys.

This was an unforgettable experience! We had trouble getting transportation arranged due to low season, but Lucia quickly sorted us out to make her class. Once we got there, she immediately put us at ease with her hospitality and kindness. Her farmstead is in a gorgeous location, and we enjoyed the tour of her property. We were able to enjoy some of the products from the land itself, and meet the ‘other members’ of the family (dogs, chickens, and an adventurous cat). We enjoyed the pasta making class! Under her guidance we quickly learned techniques to make local pasta. After the class, we enjoyed a fantastic meal using the fruits of our labor! It was a great time and we appreciated every minute of it.

I had a fantastic time learning to make pasta with Lucia. She is such a warm person and welcomed us into her home, a trullo in a lovely country setting. She went out of her way to arrange transportation to and from the train station for me. All in all a great experience. I highly recommend it!

The experience with Lucia was one of our highlights in south Italy. Lucia is a super friendly and very interesting and nice person. The way she lives and invites people to her home is unique. She made the nicest Italian dishes for us (typical for the region) and the pasta making was a lot of fun! Lucia was patient to explain it over and over again and took a lot of time for every single participant. The pasta combined with her yummy pesto and tomato sauce was just perfect! Afterwards she showed us the property and the plants and fruits she is harvesting. We can really recommend this experience. Thank you Lucia!
