Learn the art of great, down-home baking in this fun and informative hands-on experience. The fall and winter months are a great time for cozy indoor activities, and nothing fits that bill more perfectly! So relax and prepare to enjoy the wonderful smells in this pressure free zone. We’ll have a clinic on pie pastry - from rolling to fluting, and make a pie from scratch for you to take along. We’ll also whip up a few other personal favorites for you to take and to brag about. You might not be a baking expert when you leave, but you will know enough to dazzle your friends and family. You’ll have the chance to ask any and all of your baking questions, and you’ll depart with a bunch of goodies, a head full of new baking knowledge, and most importantly, a newly created memory of a great experience.
Other things to note
This is approximately a two and a half hour experience. While the total time is fairly predictable, baking, prep, and cooling times may vary slightly. If you don't see availability, please email me.

I founded, owned, and operated a wholesale and retail scratch bakery in the heart of Lancaster County for 20 years. Over that time, I developed literally hundreds of signature recipes across all classes of baking - from pies to cakes to cookies to breads, tortes, cheesecakes and more. I have since moved on to other ventures, but I have never lost the passion for creating great desserts. And now I want to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with you in a hands-on exploration of the baking traditions of the area.

Michael welcomed my family.into his beautiful home. My 14 year old daughter loved the hands on part of.baking. We baked four delicious desserts. Micheal gave us so many baking tips. I would definitely recommend this experience.

I went to the baking session with minimal baking experience but I left with a good foundational knowledge that helped connect dots of terms and techniques I have seen on baking shows. We (my husband and children 16,20,22) had a fantastic time. Lots of laughs as we aren’t gifted bakers. Michael made us feel at ease from the moment he welcomed us in his home. We left with new skills, fun memories and desserts ;).

Michael was amazing, sharing his knowledge, techniques, & passion for baking. I booked his class as a special surprise Xmas gift for my son & his wife who had just flown in from Australia. They both love cooking, but this was a rare opportunity to learn from a true professional. They said Mike was fun, delightful, energetic, & had endless tips for amateurs. They came home with amazing baking creations, enough to feed a dozen!

Michael is a very happy and carefree baker with lots of personality to go with it.
