This half day tour and hike is a combination of an easy 1.5-2 hour hike and a visit to an old logging town, Snoqualmie and the famous Snoqualmie Falls of Washington state.
We will meet in Seattle downtown area and drive eastward towards eastern Washington for about 30 minutes until we arrive at Olallie State Park. We will hike in the forest along a river and then zigzag up a hill to a view point of Twin falls, which is a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the forest. We then hike through old growth forest to the Twin Falls, where we spend some time exploring the Twin Falls, upper and lower falls and have a snack break.
We hike back to the trail head and drive past Mount Si to the old small historic logging town of Snoqualmie. There you will learn about how logging was the major industry in Washington in the last century. The old logging locomotives of the time are still on the railroad tracks and the main train station is now a museum in Snoqualmie. We have a break in the town and there is an opportunity to explore the cozy little cafes and shops or the small museum.
Then, a few minutes drive from Snoqualmie town we stop for the scenic famous Snoqualmie Falls, which is a big fall of 270 feet and average width of 100 feet. We finish the tour by driving by Borst Lake, where the water is so still that Mount Si is reflected in the lake and then head back to Seattle downtown.

I am a geographer and have been hiking in nature for most of my life. I love nature and I have spend many hours hiking in the forests and mountains in Washington state. I guided tours in the North Cascades and shared my knowledge about the geology and landscape formation of the region. Washington state offers everything from snow peaks and glaciers to sandy beaches and many islands.
I enjoy hiking with people and sharing the experience of beauty and silence that nature holds. I do easy walks as well as moderate and more strenuous hikes and I enjoy the company of people of all ages. I am very flexible and try to accommodate for my guests' interest and wishes.
I offer touring and hiking that is fun and interesting and an authentic Northwest experience.

Amazing views. great guide. snacks and water included. I really enjoyed our mushroom quest, I think we saw a dozen varieties. the falls were definitelythe stars but the changing weather and the different looks for the same place gave me amazing photos. Loved this tour.

Had such a great time, I would change nothing at all from this trip. As someone visiting Seattle solo without a car, it was a great way to experience Snoqualmie Falls and the surrounding area. Not only is the scenery incredible, but Susan herself was really friendly, with information about the local area to bring it alive and contextualise it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! :)

This was the best hiking experience Ive had in a long time. Susan was sharp at the meeting place. She was super friendly, sweet and knowledgeable. The hiking itself was sooo awesome. Beautiful trail and views (rivers, falls, forest). Susan provided water and snacks during hike and took awesome pictures for us. You do need to be moderately fit for it. Me and my wife are a fit couple 57-63 years old and we walk and jog almost daily and at times the hike got our hearts pumping nice and strong!. For the price and the time (4 hours) this is one f the best value hiking experience ever for us. The best is that this is a one on one very personal experience. She drives you on her car maximum 3 persons. It is not an impersonal large bus tour. And that’s why it was the best hiking experience bar none. Thank you Susan!!

This was a great tour. Susan points out many unique features on the hike and provides enough historical background to understand how the area was shaped.

This tour with Susan was excellent! She is very passionate about the area and has a ton of knowledge to share! I dragged her on a VERY rainy Friday afternoon to hike and lucky for us both, the falls were the biggest she has ever seen them! The hike isn’t strenuous and you can break as much as you need to. If you’re on the fence about going, don’t miss this!

Great excursion! Especially if you don’t have a car or a rental to get to these places. Our group was comprised of out-of-shape-non-hiker people and moderate level hikers and yet the hike was not a boring easy hike for anyone. It was a bit strenuous at times but absolutely worth it. The scenery was beautiful! Personally, my group and I could have done without the locomotive/small town excursion, I wish it would have been presented as an option. Nevertheless it was a great outing, Susan was kind and provided fresh delicious snacks.
