You will walk with me or one of my fellow team members through the main roads and the back streets of the picturesque old town. You will learn about the Mafia, its brutal violence and its business, as well as about the people who stood up against the power of the organised crime. We will stop in front of monuments, memorials and shops, each is connected with a particular aspect of our story. Sometimes a small detail, that seems unsignificant at first glance, has a story behind it that is worth to be told. An example: Addiopizzo stickers on the shops windows we will see along the walking tour. They belongs to shopkeepers who have said NO to the protection money! You will also have the chance to support them, just buying a gelato, some local products or a souvenir of Palermo. Other things to note: You can recognize me because at the meeting point I will have a "No Mafia" backpack on my shoulder. IMPORTANT! Faremo insieme una ricetta di pasta ripiena e due semplici! Imparerete a cucinare questi piatti tipici di pasta della mia terra!! Cucineremo insieme e assaggeranno la pasta preparata, condita con un sugo tipico siciliano. Utilizzo solo ingredienti biologici e di stagione! L' olio evo è di nostra produzione, le erbe aromatiche sono del mio giardino e le verdure a Km.0. Dopo aver preparato e cucinato ci sederemo in giardino a gustare i nostri piatti.

Ciao, siamo Francesca e Francesco amiamo la pasta fresca, l'arte e il mare. La nostra casa-studio, che dividiamo coi nostri tre gatti, è situata adiacentemente al mercato del Capo, ma crediamo che il vero pesce locale si trovi a Ballarò. Per questo vi condurremo tra le sue bancarelle e vi guideremo nella scelta e nell'acquisto del pesce di stagione (la spesa è a carico degli ospiti), per poi imparare assieme a preparare i formati di pasta che meglio lo accompagnano, così da poter apprezzare i sapori autentici della cucina, qui da noi, sulla nostra tavola. Diamo disponibilità tutti i giorni, lunedì escluso, perché la domenica i pescherecci non escono. Partenza per il mercato dalla cattedrale attorno alle 10:30, ritorno a casa in via San Gregorio alle 11:30, preparazione e degustazione fino alle 14:00 circa.

Navigheremo verso la grotta della regina. Ci fermeremo e vi prepareremo il nostro aperol spriz con stuzzichini locali.Dopo circa 40 minuti ci sposteremo verso il porto di Palermo,dove vi faremo vedere il meraviglioso tramonto .Successivamente,alle 19:30 si rientra alla Cala.

We’ll discover the architecturally-impressive Piazza Bellini e Piazza Pretoria, with outstanding examples of Arabic, Norman, Byzantine and Spanish art. Then we’ll ride across the main ancient “Cassaro” street, visiting the outstanding square of San Francesco, the impressive “Piazza Marina” with its giant ficus trees and the massif “Steri palace” that once housed the Spanish Inquisition. We’ll gain the charming tourist port of the “Cala” and then the spectacular expanse of greenery called “Foro Italico”, admiring beautiful seafront buildings and the unique view over the coast of Palermo. We’ll end up this tour with a taste of our unique traditional street food (arancini, panelle, milza, etc.) and then we’ll return the bikes at our drop-off point at Discesa dei Giudici. Questo non è un semplice tour, ma una esperienza indimenticabile che unisce il folklore dei mercati storici all'unicità del cibo di strada palermitano. Durante questo tour avrai inoltre la possibilità di ammirare i monumenti più importanti della città. Attraverseremo suggestivi vicoli e piazze ricche di storie e aneddoti. Partiremo dal piazzale di fronte la Cattedrale. Da qui ci dirigeremo verso lo storico mercato del Capo, dove avremo modo di ammirare l'anima più autentica della città. L'origine del mercato risale alla dominazione araba, e ancora oggi mantiene l'aspetto di un suk in cui la vista e l'udito vengono travolti da colori e suoni che vi rimarranno impressi. Oltrepasseremo lo splendido Teatro Massimo, simbolo della città, per continuare lungo la storica via Maqueda. Da lì raggiungeremo un altro storico mercato di Palermo, la Vucciria, reso celebre dal pittore Renato Guttuso. Il nostro tour proseguirà attraverso vicoli e piazze, fino a raggiungere Piazza Bellini, Piazza Pretoria e i Quattro Canti. Lungo il percorso, ci fermeremo in diversi posti accuratamente selezionati, dove potrai gustare il meglio del cibo di strada siciliano. Ti consiglio di prenotare questo tour il tuo primo giorno a Palermo, perché durante il tour ti darò anche molti suggerimenti sui migliori ristoranti, le migliori gelaterie e tutto ciò che non devi assolutamente perdere in città. Il mio tour "Palermo fuori le mura" vi condurrà ad esplorare luoghi normalmente preclusi ai turisti e vi farà scoprire una città di borghi marinari con le loro antiche tonnare, affascinanti riserve naturali, e monumenti intrisi di storia e misticismo. Il percorso avrà come punto di partenza le borgate marinare di Arenella (con la visita alla Tonnara Florio, detta Quattro pizzi) e Vergine Maria (con un focus sulla Tonnara Bordonaro e leggende ad essa connesse). Si proseguirà lungo il litorale sino alla borgata marinara di Mondello, con la spiaggia più rinomata di Palermo. Da qui proseguiremo verso la meravigliosa Palazzina Cinese. Il percorso si concluderà con la salita a Monte Pellegrino, luogo mistico e sede del santuario dedicato a Santa Rosalia, protettrice della città di Palermo.

Il tour da me proposto farà assaporare ai miei ospiti la città di Palermo fin dalle sue prime origini, ne avranno una piena contezza passeggiando attorno ai suoi monumenti, li guarderanno con meraviglia senza mai assuefarsi.
