The Five House is a rustic and charming house, traditionally and simplistic decorated, located in Sintra’s historic centre. The property is located in a XVIII Century Villa, 5-minute walk from the train station and 15-minute walk from Sintra’s National Palace. The house has a large living room, a terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 shared bathrooms, 2 double rooms and, a two mixed dorm, one with 4 beds and another with 3 beds. All rooms have their own theme illustrated with our own photographs

The walk from the house to the National Palace takes only 15 minutes and along the way you go through other places of interest with stunning scenery.

We are Filipe and Vera. We are a couple which biology and photography brought us together! Currently, we live in Sintra, a beautiful and mysterious town. This small foggy town is inexhaustible source of inspiration for us!
We lived in Florence, Italy, for 4 years, which proved to be another big source of inspiration and ideas for our projects. During our stay, we got lucky enough to travel a lot and try out many B&B. Since then, we have had a dream of having our own B&B in Sintra.
This year we came across the perfect opportunity and we couldn’t let it slip through our fingers.

Since we are both photographers, we provide our guests the possibility of a photographic session. This experience is designed to make you time-travel back to the early ages of photography. You’ll have your portrait made through one of the oldest photography processes: wet plate collodion and will have the chance to experience the whole process of development. This immersive experience will be held at FIVE HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO, which itself is equipped with antique cameras, and furniture, alongside some literature on 19th century Photography, all for your edification.
