Lovingly restored 1875 Victorian Mansion located 1.2 miles from Downtown & blcks to UTC. Located in Historic Highland Park a Urban Multi Cultural &1st Chatt neighborhood built.
Full access to the Kitchen and Dining room are inc. As is the lovely front porch. Our goal is to transport you back in time while your here with Southern Hospitality. I stay out of the way but I am always available to help any way I can. I enjoy telling you about things to do and where to go if you need assistance.

Ever wondered what was behind the door of that Victorian 1800's Mansion? Now you can not just see but spend the night too : ) I have worked diligently to keep her original lay out and not compromise it so other generations can see how we lived in 1875. Of course it has all been updated to reflect this era but the bones remain the same. The bathroom is located right next door to the room as en suite did not exist in 1875. My bathrooms are the original wash closets transformed into 21 st century. Our Diverse neighborhood is.the first to be built after the Civil War. Most of the 1800's homes have been re-modeled (about 80%) while others are still in that stage. We have a neighbor that has lived here since a newborn and loves it here. He is incredibly sweet and helpful but has not re modeled his home as the most of us have. I was the first on my block to b re-done and I have a dog park across from my home. There are only 5 homes on my block of which 3 have been re-done. One is in the process and the rest of Highland Park seems finished to me. I urge you to go a block up and see all the re modeled mansions. One is the original Olan Mills Greek Re Vival. We are also within a block of McCallie where you will find drug stores resteraunts parks UTC and many other multi use biuldings as we are only 1.2 miles from Downtown and within blocks of UTC. I may go overboard in explaing a Urban Neighborhood but it is so different then the suburbs I want everyone to understand its diversity. Thank you for your time in reading all this : ).
Each of our Private rooms are adorned with various antiques many past down thru generations. Each bed is covered with a 3" topper, covered in luxury bedding and topped with a double stuffed duvet and topped with lovely matching comforter. Flat screens with cable and Free WiFi is available along with FREE parking right in front. I must admit I do love to re arrange furniture and add or take away items so my pictures may not show my latest re-design.
Please Note: I don’t imply you may want to walk the 1.2 miles to Southside. I’ve had people say they thought they could walk but roads are busy. U can walk to Zoo, pool, park and Wally’s Restaurant easily. Also, Veteran Cemetery and those that don’t mind busy roads have other options. Uber is $5 from here to City Center which is less then 2 miles.

Our neighborhood is the Historic Highland Park area created in 1889. Ours is the first neighborhood built after the Civil War and the first to have horse drawn trolleys. Most of the homes were built in the late 1800's and are revitalized to reflect that era. Our home is completely re-modeled and we have taken great pains to keep her as original as possible. Her floors, doors, trim, tile, windows, stained glass (i could go on and on) are original while important parts are brand new like the plex plumbing, wiring and roof. Upstairs baths are new, and kitchen is also remodeled.
We urge you to drive around and look at the re-modeled mansions and bungalows. And the appreciation of all the hard work going into the ones being re-modeled. Keeping in mind that people cannot live in them while they are being re-done. We do still have some older couples that have lived here 60 plus years that want to stay here and who can blame them right? Still others are holding on to their property because the prices are sky rocketing and they want to wait to sell to make more money. So we are a mixed neighborhood of new homes, remodeled 1800's homes, homes being re-modeled, some people staying and other sitting on gold mines. This is the fastest transforming part of the city. For example...Condos across from us sell for 190K. Re-modeled homes sell for 300K.Plus, 15 M is being invested from now to mid 2017 on mix use buildings and re-models. I think its really exciting watching old homes become the beauties like they were originally only better : ) Also new bike paths and bike kiosks are being added and at the end of our street one of the 1800's buildings has been fitted for retail which is very exciting!! Why am I going into all this detail? I don't think everybody has experienced the transformation of a 1800's neighborhood and all that goes into that project. I don't want anybody to say I didn't describe things well.
I think you find these transformations in many Historic neighborhoods across the USA because of the push to live downtown where the action is. No longer are people moving out of these amazing neighborhoods but into them.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE our neighborhood where everyone know everyone like in the 50's. Our neighbors are mostly single young white collar professionals and self employed artists and writers that love living downtown. Together we are transforming this neighborhood.
Its also awesome here because we are centrally located 1.5 mile from downtown center, 1 mile from the South side art district and 4 miles to the foot of Lookout Mountain. A block from our home is Warner Park/fitness center. You will find a Olympic size pool (closed after school starts), wading pools, spray park with slides and chutes, fitness center and the Chattanooga Zoo. Lots of fun to be had. Also, there is a Fabulous Antique mall at end of block.
Great city to get out and do fun things and make memories with the family
