Two miles from the University of Maine, Orono. A private home, 10-acre property, adjacent to walking, biking, and cross country trails. You will enjoy the privacy of the upstairs floor, 2 bedrooms, 1 loft bedroom, and loft living room. This is a beautiful Maine farm house in a private, rustic setting. Available seasonally for your use is an 18' above ground pool. In winter months, we recommend having an AWD vehicle.

Your reservation here includes more than a private room. Whether you are a single guest or a group, the entire second floor space is included with your reservation: 3 sleeping areas, closets, a living room and private bath. We are able to fit a double bed quality air mattress in the living room space to host up to 7 guests. The shared kitchen is downstairs on the first floor, available for reheating prepared foods and simple cooking. There is a large table that seats 8. This is a quiet home on a secluded property. Seasonally we offer an 18' above ground pool.

Our nearest neighbor is about 1/4 mile down the road on either side. We cannot see each other, and or any other buildings in any direction. It is quiet here, but 1/2 mile down the road is local business and a bus route.

I am an retired independent home birth midwife who attended births in Maine for over 25 years. I retired from 40 years of nursing in 2015, and currently work as a medical consultant, herbalist, and homeopath. My hobbies are gardening, landscaping/reforestation, growing and studying herbs and medicinal plants, cooking and baking.
We do out best to raise our own food, chickens, eggs, and vegetables/ herbs.
When you arrive here, you will be greeted our large dog, Nero, a Cane Corso. Do not be alarmed! He likes to know who is coming in, and quickly settles down to a normal lazy habit of long naps with short play times in between.
This is an "early-to-bed, early-to-rise" household. We love the morning, and have lots of work to do here every day. Our dog and 2 cats gather in the kitchen to be fed as soon as they hear puttering. The day has begun!
Our interaction with guests varies as guests prefer. We are close to the University of Maine. We are central to several hiking and tourist areas: Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Bar Harbor, Belfast, Camden, Rockland.
I enjoy hosting and meeting new people, and will assure your comfort. We are told we have great hospitality!
