The perfect mountain getaway! Enjoy filtered views of Donner Lake from the deck and trails right out the back door. Downtown Truckee is just a 10-min drive and the resorts are a short 20min drive. The master bedroom is roomy with a private bath. Guests are welcome to lounge in the spacious front room with tons of light and use the kitchen.

I am a 22 year Truckee local. Before Tahoe, I lived near Breckenridge, CO for 7 years but I am originally from Akron, Ohio! I live here for the mountains and the people who make it a community and my home. I am an avid backcountry skier and mountain biker. I founded a non-profit organization in 2012 called, Tahoe Food Hub. It creates a regional marketplace for small, local farms and creates access to local food for North Lake Tahoe. We do a lot of outreach on why a local, sustainable and equitable food system is important for our economy, health and environment. We have an education farm with a geodesic greenhouse where we lead school tours and coordinate all kinds of community events like soup night, food truck festivals and more.

A little more info if you are interested...I had a long career in the outdoor industry first working for a backcountry ski magazine, Couloir, then later Patagonia running their Athletes & Events Dept. The knowledge I gained at Patagonia made me want to get out and make a difference in the world so I started working for one of the environmental groups that Patagonia supports, South Yube River Citizens League (SYRCL). I helped SYRCL develop a tour program for their Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival. In 2009, food films like "Food, Inc." and "Fresh" got me fired up to learn more about our broken food system and what we could do to make it better. I learned about food hubs and building a network of local farms. I founded the Tahoe Food Hub in 2013 with five farms and five restaurants and we now have over 40 farms and 60 restaurants plus a Farm to School program and a donation program for our local food bank.
