Chinook Shores is a cozy newly remodeled beach cottage with a spectacular front row view of the Historic Lower Columbia River. Enjoy the unobstructed 180 degree view of passing ships, Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, spectacular wildlife, and gorgeous sunsets. Private steps will lead you down to a semi-private sandy beach that offers beachcombing, driftwood, sea glass, swimming, kayaking, up close views of the historic seining fish traps and crashing waves at high tide. Chinook Shores cottage was designed and appointed for pure relaxation. The setting is very peaceful and beautiful. This cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or small family. It is a stand alone remodeled 1950's building that we were told was originally built with salvaged lumber from a nearby ship wreck. The original wood floors have been restored. The custom barn doors, cabinets, bath vanity and kitchen shelving were built from original repurposed wood . Any time of year you can enjoy storm watching, sunsets, river travel and wildlife. It really is a gem !

Beds:
The one bedroom has a queen bed, with reading lights on each side of the bed. The authentic Navy bunk beds in the main room add a fun nautical sleeping experience.

Kitchen:
Prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen, with custom countertops, dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, bar area, crockpot, blender, toaster, tea pot, Keurig for coffee/tea,(Keurig Cups provided) and an automatic coffee pot/filters. (BYOC if you want drip coffee).

Amenities:
Cottage has games, puzzles, art supplies, DVD's, Firestick for streaming movies/music over WIFI, blankets, binoculars, BBQ, paved driveway for parking, washer/dryer, telephone, new bath towels, linens and queen mattress. We provide the initial supply of paper products and soaps. We do not replenish products during your stay. Space heaters are in every room. The cottage is immaculate and well maintained.

Outside Amenities:
2 decks - Covered front porch with gas grill and picnic table, and a riverside deck with outdoor seating for two. A separate viewing perch that sits above the shoreline. 2 firepits: 1 on perch during the summer months. The other pit is on the side of the cottage (protected from wind) open year round. Wood can be purchased from several local stands in Chinook.($10.00)

Please respect the neighbors as this is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
Quiet hours are from 10pm - 8Am.

Dog Policy: Due to the size of the cottage, as a standard we accept 1 dog per stay. (80 lbs max) and we charge 25.00 per night An additional dog will be considered on a case by case basis. Such as: 2 small dogs. Please review additional pet requirements under house Rules and click on show more for full details of pet rules before booking with us.

Our guestbook outlines seasonal events, local restaurants and other local fun activities. The guestbook will also assist you with all operations of the cottage and check out procedures.

Unforeseen Circumstance: We will make every effort to repair and correct any unforeseen circumstance. Please notify us about the issue that impacts your stay, during your stay.

Other Notes
When Choosing your dates please do not leave a 1 day space between your dates and someone else's dates. IE: Don't leave 1 night open. Please call us or send us an inquiry before booking so we can discuss options to avoid an unbookable night.

CHINOOK is a historic fishing town, with a nearby port for fishing/crabbing, cannery, beach, Fort Columbia military state park (beautiful views), county parks, post office, coffee shop, local seafood for purchase (Linda crab), grocery & gas station, marine repair , Roadhouse restaurant/bar, antique store and a thrift store.
Chinook is situated between Long Beach and Astoria (15 minutes either way) all of which offer many attractions and activities ( see guestbook) Long Beach offers excellent razor clamming throughout the year. Plus many traditional seasonal events. Astoria is a unique, quaint and a very historical town to visit.

Welcome to our little slice of heaven. We worked almost every weekend for 8 years remodeling both the main house and cottage completely. We use the main house as our own vacation get away. We enjoy taking care of our property, and hosting guests in our quiet & comfortable cottage, steps from the beach.
We both love outdoor activities that include, boating, fishing, crabbing, clamming, hiking, skiing , snowmobiling and traveling (We are busy). Traci grew up in Chinook during the summers, at a family campground close by. She has many treasured memories form those times in Chinook. Jeff started enjoying Chinook in the 80's with Traci and her family. We are thrilled to now be residents of Chinook. We hope that you will come and enjoy the beauty of the area and fall in love with our little of heaven.
