L-ispazju
Milot is home to the family owned and operated Lakou Lakay which means “our home” in Creole. Maurice Etienne is the director of the cultural center and operates it along with his wife and beautiful daughters. Their goal is to preserve the rich cultural traditions of Haiti so that it may exist as a country.

Lakou Lakay was originally the home of Etienne’s mother, and it was where she raised her son. Etienne has continued her legacy by remaining in Lakou Lakay and rearing his own family. Twenty years ago they opened their home to the public as the first hotel in Milot. Their concept was to welcome people, not as strangers, but as part of their family. They wanted to share this special place and their rich Haitian traditions.

The whole center is also used for community celebrations and other events, so your visit is certain to get you close to traditional Haitian life.

Aċċess għall-klijenti
Guests are invited to enjoy the views from the terraces outside the guestrooms. We set up tables and chairs for meals, which may also be taken downstairs under the mango trees instead.

From the CAP airport to our guest house we suggest to use the official airport drivers. The price can be as low as $30 and depends on your negotiating skills.

It is a 25 minute car ride and all the drivers know Milot village and once in the village can easily ask any local where Lakou Lakay is.

If you are familiar and comfortable on the local Tap Taps getting from Cap Haitien to Milot will set you back about 20 gourdes and take about 30 minutes.

Milot, Nord Department, il-Haiti

Milot is an well appointed Haitian village at the foot of the Palace Sans-Souci. It is very safe and locals are friendly and look forward to selling any foreign guests in town a local beer or fried breadfruit snacks.
