Enjoy this incredibly clean guest suite located on the lower level of my home in a beautiful, suburban Kalamazoo neighborhood. NO SHARED SPACES AND A SEPARATE, OUTDOOR ENTRANCE will ensure your privacy and comfort. Relax in nearly 700 sq ft complete with queen bed, full bathroom, kitchenette (no stove/oven), work desk, and tv with Roku. Located LESS THAN 1 mile from West Main St., US-131 and many stores and restaurants. WMU, KCollege, Bronson Hospital and the downtown area are a short drive.

1. THE LOCATION
SO conveniently located!!
Located in the suburbs, but only a mile from US131 and West Main Street (M43). Downtown Kalamazoo is only about a 10 minute drive. We are also located in close driving proximity to WMU, Kalamazoo College and KVCC. The gorgeous Kal Haven crushed limestone trail is only 1.5 miles down the road and is perfect for a nature stroll or if you’re an adventurer, you can bike all the way in to Lake Michigan! The beautiful shores of Lake Michigan are just a 45 minute drive West along M-43. You will love seeing the iconic lighthouses dotted along the Michigan coastline in winter or summer!
2. THE LARGE GUEST ROOM SPACE
This is a VERY LARGE guest suite space, considering it’s only one room! It’s located on the walk out level of my personal residence. It is approximately 700 square feet and there are NO stairs or steps to access the space or within it but you do have to step up from the street curb. On street parking is less than 50 feet from the entrance, making coming and going with your luggage fast and convenient.
This is an open concept space, with a comfortable queen size bed, leatherette loveseat, 32” tv with Roku and DVD player, kitchenette (NO STOVE/OVEN), full en suite bathroom and walk in closet. You will love the thoughtful touches such as a luggage rack, first aid kit, extension cord, ironing board, fan, hair dryer, full length mirror, nightlights, white noise machine, wine opener and wine glasses, shot glasses, playing cards, board games, puzzles, books, magazines, DVD’s and much more. I do my best to leave consumable goodies for my guests too!
3. THE CLEANLINESS
I do all of the cleaning myself and pride myself on extreme cleanliness. I AM FULLY VACCINATED! There will never be any shortcuts taken. ALL of the linens are washed between guests, every time. You will ALWAYS have clean sheets, towels, wash cloths and blankets at my place plus extras in the closet! The bathroom and kitchenette will always be disinfected between guests. I provide shampoo, body soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towel and cleaning supplies.
4. THE HOST
I care! You’re guaranteed a clean, welcoming stay. I have been hosting for over 6 years and have NEVER cancelled a reservation. I have NEVER had a guest complain about cleanliness. I always answer all messages within an hour or less (during daytime hours). I want you to love my place as much as I do!
I’m happy to provide personalized recommendations. I have lived in Southwest Michigan for my entire life and in Kalamazoo specifically for more than 20 years and I know the area well. I have also provided a detailed online guidebook for you as a resource for visiting all of our local places.

As much as I love and adore my space I do realize it’s not perfect. I want to point out potential shortcomings in advance so that you know exactly what to expect before booking.
1. THE SMALL SHOWER
Unfortunately, the shower in the guest suite is quite small. It's fully functional and very clean, but it is quite a small, stand up shower with no tub. It has a single, glass door.
2. MY FAMILY AND I LIVE ABOVE THE GUEST SUITE.
The guest suite is just that. A large room in my house that has been converted into a guest suite. It’s located on the walk out level of my own personal residence and I live above with my husband and 2 school age children. We are very conscientious and respectful, so If you don't mind the sounds of a family living a happy life, you probably won't mind at all; however, if you sleep during daytime hours or are not used to duplex/apartment style living, you may be disappointed. On the flip side, I’ve had many guests tell me they feel safer and more relaxed knowing my husband and I are happy to have you here and are ready to help or answer questions if needed. Our neighborhood is very quiet. We are respected members of our community and have lived in Kalamazoo for 20+ years and in our current neighborhood for 15 years. We are caring people and genuinely want you to have a wonderful stay at our home.
3. AMENITY LIMITATIONS-NO STOVE, AIR CONDITIONING OR LAUNDRY ROOM
This is a guest suite, not an apartment and unfortunately, the amenities are limited. There is not space on the electrical box for a stove, air conditioner or washer/dryer. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer these items at this time. Most guests find the full size fridge with freezer, toaster and microwave to be sufficient for short term stay cooking. There is a laundromat located a few miles from the home.
The guest suite stays cool in summer, due to it being located on the garden level of the home with lots of shade trees surrounding it. Most guests are very comfortable. A fan is provided and located in the room. Please feel free to ask for more details if you’d like more information about how the space stays cool. I’m happy to explain in detail how this space stays nice and cool!

As you can see from the pictures, the guest suite is set up with one queen bed. IF NEEDED, an air mattress can be set up upon request for the second guest with a minimum 24 hour notice.
A MAXIMUM OF 2 guests are comfortable here, so long as they are okay with sharing a bedroom because this is an OPEN CONCEPT GUEST SUITE WITH A BATHROOM AND KITCHENETTE (NO OVEN, AIR CONDITIONING OR LAUNDRY). THIS GUEST SUITE IS COMPLETELY PRIVATE AND DOES NOT SHARE ANY INDOOR SPACE WITH THE HOMEOWNER.

At 700 sq ft, this guest suite is very large. It’s an open concept room on the walkout level of my single family residence. It has a private entrance with glass french doors, plus 4 other windows. The wall to wall carpet is thick, plush and professionally cleaned regularly. There are 2 smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector as well as a fire extinguisher and first aid kit. It is equipped with a pillow top, King Koil brand queen size mattress which is always enclosed in a zippered mattress protector with fresh sheets and blankets. There are always extra blankets and pillows in the closet. There is a very comfortable, plush loveseat. The kitchenette (no stove/oven) has cabinets with dishes, full size sink and faucet, toaster, full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, electric kettle and mini coffee maker. The cabinets are filled with plates, bowls, cups, cutting boards, silverware, scissors, bottle opener, dishcloths and towels, paper towels, dish soap, cleaning supplies and more.
A 32” Samsung tv with roku and DVD player will keep you entertained. Please note-CABLE TV IS NOT PROVIDED, however you can sign in via the Roku with your own cable subscriber, Netflix, Hulu or Amazon accounts. You can also access lots of free apps and channels already downloaded for you or one of more than 200 DVD’s located in the guest suite.

PLEASE NOTE-Animals are not allowed on the property or inside the guest suite due to the severe allergy of a member of the host family. No exceptions. Thank you for understanding!

Welcome to the beautiful, quiet neighborhood of Westport, located in a SAFE suburb of Kalamazoo, MI. If you would like to get an idea on location, look for Meijer on West Main Street, Kalamazoo. The guest suite is located in the neighborhood just 1.5 miles North East from the store. The location is incredibly convenient. Only 5.5 miles to the downtown area (10-15 minute drive), WMU and K College. The KalHaven trail is less than a mile away. There is a Walmart, Meijer, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, Bigbie, Walgreens, Target, Dollar Tree, restaurants galore and so much more all within just a few miles!
