Our TARGET GROUP is (extended)families, other set ups will be considered. It is with regret, after many mutually successful reunions/ friend groups we are forced to review. Due to the behaviour of certain individuals we only accept SAME SEX GROUPS under special conditions/ by agreement.
All details of guests must be known to us and you must confirm separately that everyone has read the house rules.

EXTRA'S/ALLERGIES:
Our prices are EXCLUDING local TOURIST TAX of 1,63euro pp/pn ( 3+years) You will be required to pay this in cash and fill in the guest register.
In some countries/areas this is paid directly via Airbnb to the municipality but NOT (yet) in Katwijk. (While I can appreciate an 'all in' price is favourable we choose to add it as an extra otherwise you would incur even higher service fees from Airbnb)
Service fee = Airbnb commission (this is a variable percentage)

CHILDS travel COT ( up to 25kilo) including bedding ( set up in the room of your choice) is available for a small fee of 5 euro + 1euro per day, to a maximum of 12 euro.

There is a BICYCLE rental shop within a short walking distance, but because there is often more demand than supply, our customers have been left disappointed. Therefore we now have our own brand-new bicycles. These can be rented at reasonable prices. 1euro per hour up to a maximum of 5euro per day. We can make a deal for more days.
We have one YEPP rear childs seat available plus adapter. This is suitable for children from 9 months til 6 years ( or 22 kilo).
We also have a Qibbel Junior rear seat for transporting an older child, 6-10years (max 35kilo).
We only have ADULT size cycles. Childrens bicycles can be rented from Nico's. Plus tandems/ additional childs cycle seats.

ALLERGIES! Please be aware we have friendly :-) pets, namely a cat and a dog ( 10 kilo). They are strictly prohibited upstairs, but please assist by keeping the doors closed.
If you have other allergies, let us know.

PLEASE NOTE:
Just to clarify, our STARTING PRICE is based on up to 4 PERSONS sharing the family room.
On Airbnb infants (children under 2 years old) are not counted as guests when you are making a reservation. They are non paying guests. Say your party consists of 2 adults, 2 children 2-12 and 2 under two's (at the time of travel) you will not be eligible for two rooms. If this arises we have other options. See below.

Our room of 4 is particularly suited for a family of two adults, two children but I understand the set-up is not always ideal, therefore we have OPTIONS:

1. EXTRA ROOM:
If you are a group of 4 PERSONS ie parents and older children, or are holidaying with the inlaws ;-) and would prefer TWO separate ROOM, this is quite possible for an additional fee, depending on the length of your stay. Please ask for details. And we can arrange this via a special deal, or alternatively you can decide when you arrive, see the room, and pay the additional fee.

2. PARENTS with THREE children, in one room:
There is now the possibility of having an extra person ( child) stay in the family (four persons) room. We have a comfortable Innovation sofa bed 115cm x 210cm. This is available at an additional fee of 10euro per day instead of 35euro. This will include bed linen, towels and breakfast. When you request a booking of 5+ persons you will automatically get the pricing for the second room (+35euro pp pn). Please ask us for a special deal and you will get the 25euro reduction for the 5th person.

3. We will shortly be offering COUPLES a special discount for occupancy of the four persons room. This will only be available as a last minute. Your booking can only be made up to 10 days in advance of your stay.

Katwijk aan Zee, Zuid-Holland, in-Netherlands

KATWIJK is a traditional family seaside resort. It is still largely unspoilt and retains an air of childhood nostalgia. It has a very much laid back feel, quaint and charming rather than pulsing.
Katwijk is largely a Christian community, a handful of restaurants and all shops are closed on Sundays. On the plus side parking is free (unfortunately from 1 August 2020 this changes)on the 'day of rest' so a perfect day for lounging on the beach! There is always ample parking in the convenient, award winning underground car park on the boulevard. At other times the parking tariff is very reasonable ( garages €1,80/ street €3,00 per hour)
Parking outside our house is always free.
For the sun seekers there is a 4,5km long, sandy stretch of beach and impressive dunes. The beach is clean and dotted with plenty of comfortable pavilions serving coffee, beer, ice-cream, snacks or fine dining.
There is nothing so romantic as watching a beautiful sunset.
Katwijk offers shops, water sports, restaurants and more. Stop off at the fish kiosk or join the queue (it's that good) for probably the best ice-cream ever at Krijn Verdoes, in the Voorstraat.
The old lighthouse opens up to the public in July and August. Great views for a bargain price of 1euro!
Visit the picturesque White Church and stroll through the adjoining courtyard of traditional old fisherman's houses, it's like stepping back in time! Soak up the history and discover just how life used to be in the Katwijks museum.
Take a dive in the Aquamar swimming pool, 900m from our house.
Buy Dutch cheese/ stroopwafels at the Friday market, next to the Aquamar.
If you are here on Tuesday, don't forget the popular tourist market in the Princesstraat (only during the summer months)
Katwijk is ideal for walking or cycling trips. Take a relaxed stroll along the dune path directly above the parking garage, or along the boulevard. Or walk on the beach to Noordwijk.
Cycle through the North dunes to Noordwijk ( 20min), or South dunes to Scheveningen (1 hour) or stop off at Wassenaar. Who said Holland was flat ;-) ?
Did I mention we rent out bicycles? See below for details.
Nightlife include a few bars, pavilions, cafe's or local events involving live music. You could also check out the agenda of the local music scene (De Schuit /Scum)

Katwijk has a tourist information office for yet more ideas. VVV Katwijk, Kon. Wilhelminastraat 9, 2225AZ Katwijk aan Zee.

I am a Dutch Brit. 'An English rose living in fields of tulips' :-) Why I love Airbnb as GUEST?: When I travel I want to live (and eat) like a local! 'All inclusive resorts' are not for me! I do like cleanliness, fresh towels/bed linen though :-) and appreciate quirky accommodations. Oh and breakfast :-) is very important. As a (SUPER)HOST my aim is to have guests leaving my accommodation with good memories of Katwijk! The precious holiday moments we share with our friends/family is everything. Holidays memories should last a lifetime! Katwijk is a charming place in South Holland, The Netherlands, minutes from the bulb fields, between Amsterdam and The Hague. It is a traditional family seaside resort. It is largely unspoilt and retains an air of childhood nostalgia. Be careful who you talk you on the beach; my extended time in Katwijk was the result of a holiday romance! I am a foodie, I love tasting and cooking food from all around the world. I love street food as much as fine dining. I am not really a baker but I regularly bake my own (sourdough) bread. I also make milk kefir. I am always ready to try/cook new things. I am not a health freak but try to eat /cook healthy and responsibly. My favourites include Thai, Indian, Italian and Greek. From my extended holidays I have a whole repertoire of dishes and offer Thai workshops/ cooking demonstrations. My favorite destination is the Greek island of Crete and all parts of Thailand. I would love to visit the Greek island of Santorini in the future.
