Sleep to the sounds of pounding surf, wake to explore miles of ever-changing beaches. Spot migrating whales from the Zen Garden deck, lounge by a quiet fire under the stars. Cannabis friendly. Enjoy summer by the sea in comfort and peace.

The Whalewatch Guest Suite evolved as I created my dream home here on the rugged Oregon coastline. My intent was to blend the structure & decor with the coastal environment, & to reflect my own aesthetics & appreciation of the whales, the wind & the waves. When designing the Guest Suite, I anticipated what my friends would desire to feel complete comfort in a space of their own. Peace awaits.

Please note: Cleaning for health & safety is always a top priority at the Guest Suite! Extra special care is being taken at this time to ensure your confidence, including time blocked between guest stays, as per any state & local requirements & CDC recommendations.

Our little 'hood is sweet & quiet. The internet mapping vans haven't even driven here yet. The sound of the surf permeates everywhere. Salty air refreshes. Negative ions energize. You'll love it.

Please Note: My home is up on the cliffs above the ocean with magnificent views! Not at 'sand level'! You'll have to hike down to the beach below my house, or take a short drive just north or south of our street to State Park beach access.

We're out of the hustle of nearby Newport, down the road from Oregon Coast Community College, in a pristine location on the cliffs overlooking miles of beach, just a short drive from South Beach State Park, the jetty. You can even see Yaquina Head Lighthouse in the distance, which is definitely worth the little drive just north of Newport to check out the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, including amazing trails around the Head, seabird nesting grounds, history museum, even wheelchair accessible tide pools!

Speaking of things to do in & around Newport... Visit the Newport Bay Front & bark back at the sea lions; experience the amazing Oregon Coast Aquarium; get super scientific at the Hatfield Marine Science Center; take a whale watch tour out in the ocean or a marine discovery tour around the bay; learn to surf or learn to sail; check out the many shops & great restaurants at Nye Beach; don't miss the Visual Art Center while you're in Nye Beach, as well as our very favorite restaurant, Cafe Mundo, for excellent eats, drinks & music; visit Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, too; take a walk across & underneath the famous deco/goth-inspired Yaquina Bay Bridge, & so much more!

Then again, you may just want to relax in quiet, private comfort at home & listen to the surf . . .

Looking forward to sharing the guest suite in the home of my dreams with the perfect guests who love the ocean, the clouds, the colors, the sun, the moon, the whales, the eagles, the seabirds, and lots of privacy.

I have tried to anticipate whatever you may need while relaxing or working to the sounds of the ocean surf, enjoying the almost 180 degree view that is always shifting…

When possible, I will welcome you, show you around your own 'wing' of the house, answer any questions and get you set up for your visit.
