Hi to all future guests and all my wonderful dedicated and faithful returning guests. Since all this chaos of Covid-19, it has been very difficult for all of us. Unfortunately, it has brought out some really strange characters who may typically not use Airbnb or Airbnb should not allow them to use our platform. Because of these strange characters, I can no longer have the convenience of INSTANT BOOK; rather, newbie guests or guests with negative reviews will have to REQUEST to BOOK. Today, April 26, 2020, I have been a host with Airbnb, now two and a half years; and absolutely love sharing my beautiful homes with guests from all over the world, or my out of town weekly returning guests who come for their work. I have to say, I run a tight ship and have to be very strict with my rules with the number of rooms I have available. I find most guests are respectful and can follow HOUSE RULES very well. I have a sixth sense that lets me know which guests may try to push the boundaries. Let's just say, I already know how a reservation will go by the guest communication or lack of communication and guest response times etc. Some guests don't think it is important to READ the HOUSE RULES or even read my profile before making a reservation. Some guests think that they are ENTITLED to gain entry to my homes just because they made a reservation. I have my expectations stated in HOUSE RULES; however, to help any possible miscommunication with any newbie guests; I will set out my expectations here in my profile which pretty much lets you know who I am. 1) For the safety of all guests, I require a selfie of the arriving guest so that I know who to expect at my home....if 2 guests are arriving, I will also need the first and last name, a copy of the second guest ID on the platform and a selfie of the 2nd guest. This is all for safety and security reasons 2) Please do not refer to me as "Hey" or "Hi" or "Hello"...I find when you do not attach a name to a greeting you may have difficulty following rules set out to make my home a safe atmosphere. Strictly a respect thing for both parties. I was born with the name "Shannon" much like you were born with a name that I will refer to you throughout our communication. "Hey Shannon", "Hi Shannon" or "Hello Shannon", are absolutely perfect greetings!! 3) When making a reservation, please inform me what your purpose/reason is for being in Edmonton. If you are a local, please tell me why you are requiring an Edmonton Airbnb...when you already live in Edmonton 4) When making a reservation, please be sure to book the correct number of guests I can expect...If 2 of you are arriving, I expect to see 2 guests on the reservation 5) Please expect, that if you do not have a 5 star rating, I will have lots of questions; as, from in the past, I find if a guest is below a 5 star, they tend to have difficulty following HOUSE RULES. My rules are set to be sure ALL guests have a safe and enjoyable stay in my beautiful, clean, comfy homes. Because of my standards, I mostly have returning guests who look no further than "You're Always Home" Let's start our host/guest relationship off on the right foot with clear communication on the Airbnb platform!! For safety reasons, I do NOT communicate by telephone or text message. Key: The more questions I have to pry from newbie guests...the less likely you are to stay at my place I look forward to many more wonderful hosting experiences!!
