A stylish 19th cent. central Oxford terraced house (refurbished Sept '18) in a quiet street minutes level walk of Oxford’s famous Magdalen Bridge and its beautiful colleges. At the end of the street are fantastic restaurants, bars and music venues all within minutes of the house, which is in a very quiet and peaceful no-through sidestreet. A 2 min walk is South Park, 50 acres of open space and trees with magnificent views over Oxford city centre.

Only 5/10 minute level walk to the famous Magdelen Bridge, the gateway to the historic centre of Oxford!

The property has been newly refurbished and decorated (Sept 2018) to an extremely high standard with new solid dark oak flooring throughout the ground floor and original, restored antique wood floors in the light and airy bedrooms. The house is spacious and bright and very tastefully furnished with a mix of classic vintage 'mid-century' furniture including classic designs from the likes of Ercol and G Plan as well as contemporary pieces alongside sympathetic modern lighting . The (Oxford) owners are very design conscious, and Andy is a professional designer working across many areas of furniture and product design.

The living room is furnished with a luxury velvet sofa, armchairs and a cosy rug. The bookshelves usually contain some interesting reading. For digital entertainment there is super fast optical broadband connection (up to 115Mbs), digital cable TV and a high quality bluetooth enabled speaker system.

The dining room has an original mid-century Ercol round drop-leaf dining table, seating four with newly upholstered vintage Danish designer dining chairs. The garden room is flooded with natural daylight from the 2m long rectangular roof light and overlooks the private south facing garden.

The kitchen is very well equipped for the enthusiastic cook with quality appliances throughout including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, kettle, toaster, electric oven, 5 burner gas hob, microwave and a good selection of cooking utensils, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery ... and sharp cooks' knives!

The spacious downstairs bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet and Victorian style sink.

There are two good -sized double bedrooms upstairs which will comfortably sleep 4 people. The first bedroom has a king-size bed with a built-in cupboard for hanging clothes, a tallboy chest of drawers and bedside tables. The second bedroom has a trundle bed which can be made up as two generous single beds or one large double bed. Please specify requirements when booking and we will prepare the beds for your requirements.

The garden has a mosaic dining table with matching chairs and a bar-b-q for al-fresco dining. The garden is a calm, private space and is mainly terraced with attractive cobblestones; there is an apple tree, rose bush, large lilac tree and two recently (soon to be at Sept '18) planted mountain ash trees.

All quality bedding and towels are provided.

The property has secure off street parking for one car.

Your children are very welcome. We can provide a high chair, travel cot and stair gates on request. Please specify when making your booking and we will prepare these for you.

The house is a very comfortable, well equipped and stylish base from which to explore the wonders of our beautiful city - Oxford, the city of dreaming spires!

POLITE NOTE - please note this is a beautifully presented and lovingly cared-for house and is not suitable to be rented to hold parties! We only live a couple of houses away.

My wife, Beverley, and I have set up the house to be a haven of peace, calm and stylish living within the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Oxford. I am a designer and artist by profession and great thought and detail has gone into all aspects of the house. You will also find some of my own interior product designs in the house such as the 'Stratum' lamps which are used downstairs in dining and living rooms. These are available to purchase. We hope you thoroughly enjoy your stay in this very comfortable space. The garden and secure off-street parking are a further advantage to choosing to stay.
