* COVID-19 UPDATE *

We once again open for business and looking forward to welcoming back our guests for the summer! We would like to reassure all those looking to book a stay at The Barn that we are taking every precaution necessary to ensure the welfare and safety of all our visitors during their time with us.

First and foremost, The Barn is located in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by fields and open spaces and with no immediate neighbours; social distancing really will not be a problem! The property itself is completely self-contained and self-check-in upon arrival is available via the key lockbox. I will however always try to be here when you arrive to say hello and answer any questions, from a safe distance of course!

The Barn's accommodation will be given an extensive 'disinfecting' deep clean between each booking, with particular attention given to all high contact areas, such as handles, switches, remotes etc. All soft furnishings will be disinfected and bedding, towels and linens will (of course!) be freshly washed. PPE will be worn to complete the clean. In addition, a range of cleaning, disinfecting and sanitising products will be made available for guests to use during their stay. Should any guest have Covid-19 symptoms just prior to their visit we would ask them to please let us know straight away.

ABOUT THE BARN:

Although attached to our main house, The Barn is completely self-contained with its own front door, tucked away behind a separate gate. Guests have their own PRIVATE COURTYARD, complete with outside seating and dining area, a gas BBQ and a 'magical' water feature to make you smile! This area is gated and ONLY accessible from outside The Barn's front door, making it a secure space for young children and dogs. Guests will have their own offroad parking space behind electric gates. A tethered cable EV home charger is available to use by prior arrangement (not suitable for all vehicles as non-universal).

Just to clarify and give peace of mind, there is no carbon monoxide detector fitted because there is NO GAS used in The Barn. Both the oven and the heating are electric.

KITCHEN FACILITIES:

The Barn has a well equipped open plan kitchen/dining area with everything you might need during your stay. From lazy morning croissants to a full English, pizza, pasta or even a Sunday roast, we’ve got you covered.

The following are just some of the facilities/items available:
* Built-in single oven + induction hob
* Combination microwave/oven/grill
* Undercounter fridge with freezer compartment
* Wine cooler
* Toaster, kettle
 & coffee machine
* Cookware, crockery, cups, glassware, cutlery & chopsticks
* Cookware & utensils
* Tupperware, cling film, foil, storage bags, bag clips, paper towel etc.
* Selection of cooking oils, sauces, condiments, herbs, kitchen staples etc

* Wide selection of teas, coffees and a hot chocolate station!

EATING in and OUT:

The nearest food shops are the Co-op (5 min drive), Tesco (10 min drive), ASDA (14 min drive) and M&S Food (15 min drive). Norfolk has many excellent restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Details of our favourites, plus those closest to us (both child and dog-friendly) are provided, along with takeaways menus.

OTHER INFO:

The Barn has Wifi throughout and generally good mobile phone coverage. The HD TV has Sky/Netflix, plus Sky Cinema, Boxsets on Demand, Disney + and Sky Cricket. There is also a DVD player with a selection of films. Be sure to keep 'Alexa' busy by asking her plenty of questions about the latest weather updates, cinema listings, opening times, road directions or the markings of the pink-footed goose that flies in from Iceland every winter! The Echo Dot is linked to Amazon Prime, so that also means your choice of music on demand.

Extra pillows are available in the wardrobes, including feather and memory foam. We provide all towels, including bath towels, hand towels, beach towels, kitchen towels and dog towels. Loo roll is a given! Fresh bedding and towels will be supplied if needed.

The Barn is with a Yale safe for guests to use should they wish to store valuable items during their stay.

Please note there is NO washing machine in The Barn, but we are happy to do this for you if required. £6 a load: washed and dried, but not ironed! A laundry bag is supplied. There is also a laundrette located in Horsford, just 4 minutes down the road.

KIDS STUFF:

Having two children of our own, we know exactly how exhausting a trip away with young ones can be, and how much you need to pack. So with that in mind, we have kitted The Barn out with some kiddy essentials to help lighten your load:

* Travel cot + bedding
* Baby monitor
* Night light in bedroom and hall
* Blackout blind
* Changing mat, potty, kiddy step, bath mat (for shower only)
* Shnuggle baby bath (newborn to 12 months approx)
* High chair
* Plastic plates, bowls, cups and cutlery
* Hand blender
* Factor 50 suncream
* Shower wash
* Books, colouring books, magazines
* Lego, wooden train set, dress-up box
* Games, toys, puzzles, DVDs

The 'Hen House' bedroom sleeps 3, with a bunk bed and a pull-out trundle if required. All 3 mattresses are a full-sized single. Please let us know your preference for bedding before you arrive as we cater for boys and girls! The travel cot can be set up in either this room or the master bedroom.

Parents: If you fancy a child-free night we are happy to offer an evening babysitting service. All adults in the house have worked with children and have undergone a DBS check. Rates are £6 per hour.

DOGGY BUSINESS:

Our own dogs (cockapoos who are as friendly and daft as they are harmless and fluffy) will be secured behind a fence at all times and will have no access to The Barn or the shared front drive.

GUESTS with dogs:

We warmly welcome up to TWO small to medium-sized dogs only at The Barn. Please contact us prior to booking if unsure. Please note there is an additional £25 supplement per dog per stay.

We offer a DOGGY SITTING SERVICE for any of our guests who wish to visit somewhere where dogs aren't able to go, such as BeWILDerwood or Sandringham Estate.
Prices: £25 per half a day / £40 per full day. This will include plenty of playtime in our own garden and treats, of course!

Being dog owners ourselves, we understand it's not always easy taking four-legged friends away! The Barn is completely dog-friendly, we just ask that for the sake of our carpets, soft furnishing and other 'non-doggy' guests, that you please wipe any wet/dirty paws when coming into The Barn, particularly before going into the carpeted bedrooms. Keeping them off the furniture is always appreciated! We have provided a large wipeable dog bed, as well as feeding/water bowls and dog towels to help keep them clean. If you require a soft dog crate to use during your stay please just ask. We would also ask that you please clear up all dog mess while you are here. Dog bags are provided. There is a lovely 'off lead' wooded walk just 7 seconds from the front gate - perfect for the first and last toilet run of the day!

It is NOT permitted to leave dogs unsupervised on the premises (either in The Barn or the courtyard area) if guests are not on the property.

Norfolk offers countless places to take dogs, from forests and beaches to the waterways and national heritage sights. Information is provided about the nearest vet, dog-friendly beaches and restaurants and a great shop for picking up pooch-related supplies.

VERY IMPORTANT:

Please be AWARE. Norfolk is a HIGH-RISK area for ticks. These are a threat to both people and their dogs as they can transmit serious tick-borne diseases, such as Lyme disease. Therefore, please make sure that your dog is up-to-date with vaccinations and is protected against both fleas AND ticks BEFORE visiting us in Norfolk.

Aċċess għall-klijenti
Guests will have full access to The Barn and the private courtyard area outside its front door. The Barn is fully self-contained.

Affarijiet oħra li għandek tagħti kas
Please Note: While The Barn is located in the countryside, we are located on a main road. Therefore, as with anywhere, some traffic noise IS to be expected when standing outside of the property, particularly during peak times of the day. Evenings, however, are generally peaceful, aside from the birdsong and rather vocal owls! Both bedrooms are fitted with acoustic glass and a water feature in the private courtyard offers a little oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. We've never had a guest complain that they didn't have a great night's sleep!

Hevingham, England, ir-Renju Unit

The Barn is located on the edge of the village of Hevingham, surrounded by open fields, farmland and the beautiful Norfolk countryside. With endless skies, beautiful sunsets and wildlife everywhere you turn, it's a welcome escape from city life. The nearest woodland walk is just 7 seconds from our front gate; make sure you keep your eyes peeled for deers, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs, pheasants and grouse.

The Barn is also ideally located within easy access of Norfolks most popular attractions, including a vibrant Norwich City shopping centre, castles, museums, theme parks, zoos, nature reserves, a premier league football team, theatres hosting the latest West End shows, an entire coastline of beautiful blue flag beaches, the Queen's home at Sandringham and, of course, the exceptional beauty of The Broads National Park, with over 125 miles of lock-free waterways and home to over quarter of the rarest plants and animals in the UK.

So whether you’re looking to explore the countryside with a four-legged friend, build sandcastles, dance till dawn, enjoy fish and chips on the pier, go skiing, walk amongst wild seals on the beach, enjoy a Michelin star meal, clamber through magical treehouse, take in a play or even come face-to-face with tigers and dinosaurs, The Barn is only ever a short drive away from a thousand exciting days out and countless new memories waiting to be made.

Please be aware that Hevingham is a small village that has very limited amenities. The nearest shops etc are located in Horsford, just a 4-minute drive down the road. A lovely (dog-friendly) restaurant is just a 27-second drive from The Barn.

I'm Rachel and I live in the village of Hevingham with my husband (Paul), 2 children, 2 dogs (Charlie and Alfie), Cookie the cockerel and 19 chickens (Sooty, Sweep, Snowy, Pepper, Ginger, Daisy, Lottie, Pixie, Pearl, Mavis, Coco, Nutmeg, Betty, Annie, Blossom, Heidi, Soufflé, Pom Pom and Puff!) I wouldn't like to say which of those aforementioned family members are the hardest work! We spent 6 long and tiring months renovating 'The Barn at Greenacre' to create a beautiful self-contained holiday let, located right in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside. With its wonky walls, countless beams and even branches bursting through the ceilings, The Barn is nothing if not quirky and full of character and charm. Our aim has always been to create a really stylish, comfortable and cosy space - the ultimate 'home-from-home' experience that will allow our guests to relax, unwind and make some wonderful holiday memories. We hope we will be able to offer this to you!
