Hunter Valley cattle country - 40 acres, 4 min drive from Dungog. During Covid19 time the property is left vacant for at least 2 nights before you arrive for cleaning and good separation. IGA delivers if you wish. Amazing silence, morning birdlife, splendid sunsets. The property has three dams. The Ridge shares the home paddock with a shedhouse, 20m up the hill, also occupied, so please give them privacy as they should you. A 1.5 acre dingo-proof home-paddock is safe for kids and pets.

L-ispazju
This house is available because we are away travelling. Architect-designed, built for country living in the fashion of early colonial dwellings (big encircling verandah, extra fly roof over the house roof for coolness in summer) the house is really just one large room living/dining/kitchen all interconnecting, with two small studies and two bedrooms. Main bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds which can be configured as a king bed if you prefer. (PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN BOOKING.) Those in this second bedroom use the main bathroom, which is also a laundry. The verandah space is actually slightly larger than the house, and the north, west and eastern verandahs all have furniture for eating or relaxing, dependent on the weather. The floors are all polished concrete inside the house and slubbed concrete on the verandahs.
Because of the air-convection designed construction of the house, in the extremes of the seasons there is usually a 10 degree difference between inside and out, summer and winter.
However it is air-conditioned for summer and has a pot-bellied stove for winter. To have the whole house almost the same temperature, heated by the pot-belly, set the controls on the wall in the western study to 'FANS' and the warm air will be circulated through vents in the walls. Please note touching the pot-bellied stove can burn a small child's fingers, so please be careful.
One important Note to BEWARE of: The house has more than 75% glass walls, doors and windows. We do NOT have any blinds or curtains, except in the ensuite bathroom. As we are situated on 40 acres (though there is another flat in the shed up the hill past the garden which is occupied by a uni student), only the 'roos can peer in the windows. If you need full darkness to sleep then either bring your eye mask, or maybe this is not the house for you.
Pets: We love animals and they are all welcome. The dog-door is only for small animals, so you'll have to be door-servant to your dog if it's too big to fit. Please don't let them scratch at the flyscreen-doors - they are very weak. There are lots of dog mats around. Accidents will require bleach and vinegar on the polished concrete floor (should be in the kitchen cupboard)

Aċċess għall-klijenti
You will have access to the entire house and verandahs, as well as the surrounding garden, which is enclosed in a dingo-proof fence (once the front gate is closed).

Affarijiet oħra li għandek tagħti kas
At this time of Covid19, two nights are the minimum that the house is left vacant between bookings. (Mostly it's more because weekends are popular)
Please be sure to note the lack of blinds or curtains as described above.
Please do read about the Dungog Common below, and there is great swimming in the Williams River at Fosterton (weather allowing).

Dungog is a quaint country town, just an hour from Newcastle or 2.5 hours from Sydney. There are several coffee shops, restaurants and art shops featuring wares from local and other artists and these are starting to open again. IGA delivers and the website is www dot loveys dot com. During the week it is very very quiet. Almost every weekend there is some kind of event in Dungog, but most are cancelled now. Dungog used to be a dairy town and before that was a key timber getting region, but now the rural countryside is mostly devoted to cattle raising.
