Convenient location. Easy access to downtown or the beach. Its on James Island, licensed in the City of Charleston, just across the marsh and harbor of the historic downtown. (5 miles to downtown, and 8 miles to Folly Beach)

The high 10 foot ceilings, large 8 foot windows, and wonderful view create an open experience.

* The guest apartment is attached to the end of main house, with private entrance. Recently renovated with guest privacy in mind. A thick well insulated wall separates the back apartment from the main house for complete privacy.

* Queen size bed in bedroom for two guest.

* Perfect for a couple or solo traveler. Very safe, secure and private in quiet residential neighborhood. (This unit is set up for no more than two overnight adult guests and no more than one car.)

* This is a legal B&B fully licensed and insured in the City of Charleston. (STR # 01572)

* The kitchenette has a sink, microwave, cookware, toaster oven, fridge, ice maker, dishwasher, but NO OVEN. (City of Charleston zoning and fire department only allows a microwave in short term rentals.)

* The apartment has a ductless mini split AC/Heat pump for guest to adjust room temp with a remote control found on the bookshelf with instructions, and also connected to central heating and air for the entire house. Ceiling fans in both rooms.

The apartment is at the end of a 1960's brick ranch house on a very nice lot with a great view, tucked into a little cul-de-sac in a 1960's residential neighborhood on James Island just between the city and beach. There is a park 2 miles from the location, a grocery store, a few places to eat close by, and very safe to walk or jog, however is not walking or biking distance to downtown or the beach, as there are bridges that aren't pedestrian accessible at this time. Guest would need a car or Uber. Guest often ask me how long I've lived here, 20 years, and the apartment was originally converted to a living space some time back in the 60s.

I'm from Charleston, College of Charleston grad, and have worked in restoration and custom cabinetry. I love getting outside riding a bike on trails, paddle boarding, walking on the beach, or reading old novels in a beach chair! Really enjoyed putting my skills to use renovating the apartment, and above all really want the guest to love it.

I enjoy meeting new people and available to chat or answer questions but leave it up to each guest to decide how much interaction they prefer. Because its self check in I only see or hear guest if we are both outside or happen to leaving at the same time and its fun to say hello, because guest are always up beat and happy. I usually park in a different drive on the other side of the yard and do yard maintenance between guest. On trash or recycling days I move bins from the dive to the curb.
