Nestled amongst the natural vegetation, the setting is the perfect mix of bay/beach life & nature preserve on the Fort Morgan Peninsula of Gulf Shores. Offering an open concept living + dining + kitchen, two bedrooms (one king and two twins), one bath + outdoor shower, and stunning bay views from our northern deck. *Hosts up to four humans. No Pets.*

Come experience the soul rejuvenating lifestyle of Fort Morgan at Halito Oka sandwiched between the Mobile Bay and the Emerald Coast; Offering premium accommodations for up to four guests. **no pets, no exceptions**

Highway 180 is a scenic stretch of highway down Alabama’s beautiful Gulf Coast line and Mobile Bay. The highway connects downtown Gulf Shores to the tip of the peninsula at Fort Morgan and Fort Morgan Ferry. The drive down Old Fort Morgan Highway is stunning, as you move through undisturbed southern woods, the open waters of the Little Lagoon, and the opening of the waters on the north where Mobile Bay meets Bon Secour Bay. This experience within itself is magical, always giving me the feeling of coming home. Come live the Fort Morgan life and experience the beach the way it was meant to be, where Southern Charm meets Bohemian lifestyle and unforgettable vacation memories are created.

Our home is tucked away on the banks of the Mobile Bay. Fort Morgan is known for its laid back attitude and quiet beaches. The bay views from our home, are incredible. The public beach access is roughly a five minute walk from the house. You do have to cross over Old Fort Morgan Highway (a two lane road that has a speed limit of fifty-five) to access the beach, so it is important that children are accompanied to the beach access point.

Like most beach homes, our house is on pilings, however upon entry the home is one level. There are no interior stairs.

The front door is on the north side of the home. The front door has a keyless entry. You will be given the access code to the keypad prior to your arrival.

Upon entry into the home you are greeted by a bright and airy living/dining/kitchen area. This open concept layout is perfect for entertaining your guests.

The kitchen is fully stocked with more than the basics. We aim to supply you with all of the pots, pans, utensils, etc you can need. There is not an ice machine. You can snag a bag of ice from the Pines and Sassy Bass both of which are within two miles of the house. If you find that we are missing an item please let us know via text. Please note that the home will occasionally have salt, pepper, olive oil and the like, however we do not supply these items and we do not guarantee that these items will be available. The dining table is spacious offer a great place for enjoying a meal together, playing games, or working, if you must.

The kitchen is also the home for our laundry area, offering a new front load washer and dryer.

The living room has new modern beach life furnishings with your comfort in mind. The mounted flat screen television which has YouTube TV as well as access to your Netflix and Amazon Prime. You are to login to your own Netflix and Prime accounts and you are responsible for logging out upon departure. We do not provide our logins.

In the living room we also have an electric fireplace. In the warmer months this is fun to use for ambient lighting, without the heat obviously. In the winter, you can choose a heat mode that will add some warmth to the room. It's function should be self explanatory, but if you have questions please just let me know. Please do not leave it on when you are not home or overnight. Thanks a ton.

This elevated main level of our home has two bedrooms and one full bath.

The bathroom is located off the 'hallway'. It has a privacy door, large double sink vanity , walk in shower and semi-private loo. Outside you will find an additional shower with hot and cold water. There is nothing better than showering under the stars. *Please always use the outdoor shower prior to or in lieu of showering indoors. The sand is hard on our pipes :-)

The master bedroom can be found on the north-east side of the home. It has a king bed, nightstands with reading lamps, privacy door, flat screen television and closet with storage space for luggage.

The guest room can be found on the south-east corner of the home. It has a two twin beds (not bunks) with night stands, reading lamps, privacy door, flat screen television and closet space for storing luggage.

Under the house you will find out grill, picnic table and outdoor shower.

Items to snag prior to arrival:
~ toilet paper and paper products
~ trash bags
~ preferred hand/dish soaps/detergents
~ specific toiletries
~ cooking staples (spices, oils, etc)
~ beach towels
We always have one trash liner in each can, one tp roll in each bathroom, and a mini Palmolive in the kitchen. We try to have one roll of paper towels and dish/laundry detergents but these three items are not guaranteed. Unfortunately, we are not a general store, but there are general stores in the area. If you forget these items, you will have access to purchase within two miles.

Although downtown Gulf Shores is twenty minutes away, there are plenty of places to eat and have fun on our side of the island. We have a detailed list of bars, restaurants, and grocery stores in the neighborhood overview section of our listing.

We aim to keep our home and beach neat and tidy. If you no longer want your beach equipment you can take it to Fire House #2 for recycling. Fire House #2 is next to Sassy Bass less than two miles from the house.

Our public beaches are quiet and easily accessible. To access the beach you simply walk down Ebb Tide Road. The beach is a quarter of a mile walk from your porch. This should take you roughly five to seven minutes.

DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS AT THE BEACH OVERNIGHT! Our beaches are home to endangered Sea Turtles during nesting season. Beach gear is a serious hinderance to their nesting success.

Alabama Wildlife is real - you could potentially see snakes, coyotes, turtles, alligators and other creatures. Please do not disturb the wildlife.

We do not issue refunds due to weather. We only issue refunds for Officially Issued Voluntary or Mandatory Evacuations.

Age requirement of twenty-one. Anyone younger than twenty-five needs my pre-approval.

Parties over four persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival.

No pets allowed, no exceptions.

Gulf Shores, Alabama, l-Istati Uniti

Fort Morgan, especially Surfside Shores, is the best of nature and the beach!

If you chose to avoid the crowds and stay on the peninsula, you can dine at local favorites such as Sassy Bass (get the Navy Cove Raw Oysters), Behind the Pines (great local spot), Tacky Jacks 2 (beautiful sunset bay view, live music and karaoke at the downstairs bar), The Coast at Beach Club (amazing gulf views, full menu and separate delicious sushi bar), and The Hideaway (family friendly, pizza and shuffleboard).

Other fun OUTDOOR attractions on our beautiful peninsula:

Explore the Fort
“Damn the Torpedoes! Go Ahead!” (usually paraphrased as "Damn the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead") is the famous line shouted by Admiral David Farragut in a brave moment on his way to Fort Morgan. The Fort is one of the two forts that protected Mobile during the Battle of Mobile Bay. The Fort dates from 1812. A museum offers displays of Civil War artifacts and tours reveal the history of the fort from the War of 1812 until its final closure by the Army in 1946. On the beach, visitors will find cannons gazing out to sea. After touring the fort, there are opportunities to stroll the white beaches, swim, fish or crab, shell hunt, and sunbathe. This spot is a favorite with birdwatchers, who have been known to make rare sightings of migratory birds.

Explore Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge
Recreate among endangered species and migratory birds. Over 4,000 acres of beach dunes, scrub dunes, fresh water marsh, salt water marsh, and Maritime forest make up the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge just west of Gulf Shores. This coastal Refuge is part of the Central Gulf Ecosystem Unit and provides refuge for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, the endangered American alligator, and the rare gopher tortoise. Part of the migration route of the monarch butterfly, the Refuge is also known for its more than 120 species of birds - making it a paradise for bird watchers. Along with birding, the refuge offers opportunities for hiking, swimming, photography, collecting sea shells, and boating. Fishermen enjoy both fresh and saltwater fishing.

Explore the Bay:
Ride the auto ferry to Dauphin Island for a tour of the SeaLab and historic Fort Gaines. Birdwatching and sunbathing are two of the favorite activities on this island paradise. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary, at the east end of the island, extends over 164-acres of maritime forest, marshes, and dunes. A campground and hiking trail are part of the Sanctuary, giving visitors opportunities to spend time observing the neotropical migrant birds and native wildflowers. In the spring, the park is visited by bird lovers anxious to view the annual bird migration.

Our biggest suggestion for people coming to the beach is to enjoy the beach and avoid the stresses of town as much as possible. That said here is a list of some of our favorite things to do....

~ Beach Rentals + Extras: To assist in a better beach experience (less chores involved) we recommend renting a tent/umbrella and chairs from either Beach Bums or Gulf Shores Beach Rentals. They also both offer kayaks, paddle boards, and other needs such as pac-n-plays, etc.

~ Paddle Board Yoga: Get ready for a FUN time followed by the most peaceful and unique savasana of your life. Paddle Board Yoga classes launch from a tiny beach next to a hidden local gem, the AnchorBar & Grill. One of the greatest views in all of Orange Beach and you will not be disappointed by the food and beverages if you decide to stick around after class! They also offer Paddle Board Yoga Classes out of Adventures Aquatic through Perdido Beach Resort (on Cotton Bayou). It is such a beautiful and convenient location too! If you are interested in this let us know. Group classes and private session available - beginners welcome.

~ Gulf Shores Jet Ski Rentals by Blue Sky Water Sports: Another great way to experience the Bay and Gulf. You can rent a jet ski by day or longer.

~ Parasailing on Fort Morgan: Chute Em Up Parasail Fort Morgan from Beach Club located at 925 Beach Club Trail. Chute Em Up has been taking customers on the most fun parasailing trips in the South Alabama area since 2004! Experience incredible views of the Alabama Gulf Coast while soaring up to 800ft above the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Their flights last about ten Minutes, and there's never been a better time to take your parasailing adventure. Picture Packages are a great way to document your parasail flight, and include 40-60 high quality images on an SD card for only $35.

~ If you chose to avoid the crowds and stay on the peninsula, you can dine at local favorites such as Sassy Bass (get the Navy Cove Raw Oysters), Behind the Pines (great local spot) get the patty melt, and Tacky Jacks 2 (beautiful sunset bay view, live music and karaoke at the downstairs bar) I would avoid the food and just drink at this local dive.

~ Coast Restaurant & Sushi Bar is a family-friendly restaurant (and only 1 mile from our neighborhood) offering a unique fun-filled dining experience. Savor the taste of the freshest seafood from the Gulf while enjoying breathtaking views of the Alabama Gulf Coast and our white-sand beaches. We always eat at the sushi bar with the sushi chef who is known as Superman by the locals. He is very talented, always serving up the freshest fish and yummy sides.

~ The Hideaway is a family friendly water hole less than a mile from the house. An easy place to snag pizza and play shuffleboard while enjoying an iced cold beer and friends.

~ Sunset Corkroom: Owners Nina Martin and Connie Nickerson had a vision for a small, intimate, upscale fine dining establishment while keeping a local friendly objective. We offer unique wines from around the world, a hand crafted menu with local organic foods. A little off the beaten path, the Cork Room is an excellent way to escape the typical beach fare and step into a more sophisticated, personal atmosphere. Sunset Cork Room is a perfect place to talk over plans with an associate or meet up with friends. Great place for live music on Tuesday nights and on the weekend.

~ Fisher's at Orange Beach Marina houses two restaurants under one roof, each devoted to creating mouthwatering cuisine that complement the two waterfront dining experiences: Upstairs and Dockside, both of which are recommended by Southern Living.

~ Cobalt: Experience contemporary coastal cuisine at its best. Cobalt, the Restaurant, located in Orange Beach, features authentic dishes crafted by renowned chefs in three distinct kitchens. Nestled under the Perdido Bay Bridge, next to Caribe Resort, patrons can enjoy a spectacular view of the bay from every table.

~ Playa: Chef Bill Briand’s menu features great local seafood, delicious grilled steaks, and tacos with homemade tortillas, truly offering something for everyone in the family. Throw in the best tropical drinks and lots of southern hospitality – served in a care-free and beautifully designed casual atmosphere with the best waterfront view in Orange Beach – and you will not want to leave. Words of wisdom, just get the pork tamale and call it a day. So damn good.

~ GTs on the Bay sits overlooking Wolf Bay on Canal Road in the heart of Orange Beach. With stunning views and bay front dining, GTs features a diverse and unique menu.

~ Anchor Bar: Boat design outlet serving bar food, beer, wine & cocktails with an al fresco marina view deck. Laid back atmosphere on Bayou St John. The food is unreal - great place to watch a Saints game - locally owned by a Louisiana native. (Who Dat!!)

~ Brick and Spoon was awarded one of the top 10 best breakfasts in the US by Travel and Leisure magazine for good reason. The stuffed French Toast sliders were something out of breakfast dreams, the beignets were perfectly sweet and crisp, and the shrimp and grits were what shrimp and grits should always be. And if it’s your thing, they have a build your own Bloody Mary menu where you literally can add pretty much anything you want to your creation

~ The Hangout: Think of the house on your street you loved hanging out at when you were growing up. Then imagine that turned into a restaurant, only 10x better. That’s the Hangout. They pride themselves on being a place where you can come to hangout all day without every getting bored. The walls are covered in collectible vintage toys, cars, lunch boxes, and other random memorabilia that you could spend hours looking at.

~ Lulu’s is another one of those places where the food is good but the experience is even better. It’s owned by the sister of Jimmy Buffet, so you know it’s going to be a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with your family and friends.

~ Original Oyster House: They’re not just your traditional oysters – they do fresh oysters, cooked oysters, oysters slathered in garlic butter and parmesan cheese, and more. My husband said these might have been the best oysters he’s ever had. If you don’t like oysters, they have a huge salad bar and other dishes like popcorn shrimp, fried pickles, and po’ boys that will keep everyone happy.

~ Ginny Lane is located right on the Orange Beach wharf and the perfect place for a bite to eat after you get done with any of these awesome things to do in Gulf Shores! I recommend going at night so you can see the trees light up and all the boats docked in the marina.

~ Spa at Beach Club: Our full-service resort spa offers massage therapy, skin care, body treatments, and salon services all designed to relax the body and mind, soothing whirlpool, and a full service salon. I personally love this place. Jennifer does my manicures and pedicures. K.C. does our massages - he is amazing. They also have a full service salon if you need help with will beach hair. :-)

~ Gulf State Park's two miles of beaches greet you with plenty of white sun-kissed sand, surging surf, seagulls and sea shells, but there is more than sand and surf to sink your toes into. Inside Gulf State Park there is a championship golf course, new beach pavilion, rental cottages, tennis courts, camp sites, 27 miles of paved/enhance trails and a fishing pier that is 20-feet wide and extends 1,512 feet into the Gulf. This and much more make Gulf State Park the perfect in-state vacation or out-of-state adventure.

After graduating she moved to the beach where she worked in interior design for several years. Our inventory is always changing to keep up with the latest trends and designs. ~ The Wharf in Orange Beach is a development on the Intercoastal Waterway with a number of great Gulf Shores restaurants, an array of local shops, a Rave Movie Theater, indoor miniature golf, the Southeast's largest Ferris wheel, an outdoor concert amphitheater, a marina and more. While it would be easy to spend the day at any of the top Gulf Shore restaurants or attractions here, its local shops are not to be missed. With an extensive list of beauty and health, children's, clothing, jewelry and specialty stores, Gulf Shores shopping is at its best at The Wharf has everything but I really only go to Shades for sunglasses and hats, but more importantly their furry friends to welcome you to the store. I also hit up The Gulf Coast House of Jerky.

~ Sanroc Cay is a small, waterfront shopping center with several mouth-watering restaurants, fun boutiques, and a charming marina. If your visit to Gulf Shores coincides with a fishing tournament, Sanroc Cay is a great spot to watch tournament fisherman bring in their catch. Between stops at one of the 10 locally-owned boutiques and stores, you can enjoy beautiful views of the marina from the boardwalk, or get out on the water with boat and diving rentals, dolphin cruises, para-sailing, and chartered trips. At Sanroc Cay, you will find goods for the home, swimwear, children's clothing and toys, and more!

~ Original Oyster House Boardwalk Shopping Center is small, it is worth the visit for the foolproof combination of good food and good shopping. Started as an extension of the Original Oyster House restaurant, the accompanying boardwalk and stores offer a selection of gifts, candles, t-shirts, jewelry, beach accessories, children's toys, and more at the handful of local shops. Find southern charm and women's fashion at Geez Louise Boutique, flavorful spices and sauces at Joe & Dave's Sauces and Seasonings, and other Gulf Shores souvenirs and sweets at the Original Oyster House Trading Company, Retro Road Trip and Hurricane Sno.

~ Windmill Market is worth the 45 minute drive from Gulf Shores to Fairhope, AL. The open air marketplace has three restaurants, a local grocery, live music on the weekends and Southern craft beer on tap. Windmill Market supports the work of local farmers, artists, antique dealers, bakers, and entrepreneurs who sell their products seven days a week. On a stroll through the market, shoppers will find handmade arts and crafts, photography, furniture, gifts and accessories, candles and soaps, and much more.

~ Pelican Place at Craft Farms is the newest Gulf Shores shopping destination. Just three to four short miles off the beach on Highway 59, this shopping area has all the stores to meet your vacation needs. With Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Books-A-Million, plus lots of other local and chain boutiques, Pelican Place has it all. Shoppers can easily spend an afternoon here running errands and getting beach essentials, while also picking up local souvenirs and gifts. A movie theater, Cobb Theatres- Pinnacle 14, is also located in this open-air Gulf Shore shopping mall.

~ Tanger Outlets: think about it but then don't go. It is a hot mess in the summer especially on rainy days. :-)

~ Fresh Market Seafood (next to the Dollar General): about nine miles from the house and the perfect place to buy your seafood, hushpuppies, and random sides that are all made on site. We buy all of our seafood from these guys. They will also cook your low country boil for you for no extra charge. Damn good!

~ Dollar General: next door to the Fresh Market Seafood. They have everything you could possibly need other than veggies. Great place to stop for utility beer and paper goods.

~ Rouse's Grocery: Our preferred grocery store. They have the best wine and beer selection in town. They also have excellent options for fresh cut meats for the BBQ.

~ Sarah's Homemade *meals to go*: They provide delicious and homemade meals made easy for you. The cook, while you spend time with your family and friends! Their meals are perfect for vacations, dinner parties, showers, new babies, or just an easy, delicious night in! Excellent ready made dishes.
