A bright double room in stylish and artistic detached house away from the hustle and bustle of central Brighton. Private drive for your car, bus stop 3 mins away. Close to A23 and A27. Room has own terrace, ideal for breakfast. Sole use of toilet and bathroom with relaxing whirlpool bath and shower over. Access to kitchen, washing machine and garden and almost sole use of delightful dining room/lounge.

My whole house is like an art gallery, in fact the garage has been converted solely into a space for the display of art and sculpture. You may wish to explore or ignore what you encounter. We used to participate in the Artists Open Houses during the Brighton Festival in May but not any more. Visitors always admired the views from the terrace that is now for guests ' own use.

The Westdene area of Brighton is a lovely quiet area to live in. And Redhill Drive, because it is located on the top of a hill, is known as THE road for houses with stupendous views. Our guest room with its own fabulous terrace has the best views in the house if not the neighbourhood! The Sportsman pub, attached to Withdean Stadium & Leisure Centre, is within 15 mins walk. Their carvery and other meals are very reasonably priced. The Galileo Pizzeria in Woodland Drive is a similar distance away.

I was born and brought up in Germany but have lived in Brighton for over 30 years. I live on the premises, so it'll be easy to answer any questions you may have about the accommodation or about Brighton in general. I like meeting new people and sharing stories. However, I am respectful of my guests' privacy and tailor my interaction according to their needs.

I am semi-retired now that I'm a grandma of twin granddaughters. Before that I used to participate in the annual Brighton Arts Festival with Open House art exhibitions and sculpting workshops. I still organise sculpting workshops in my garden accompanied by an art and sculpture exhibition in house and garden but it is now much more low-key. Also I have moved my little event to June so that I have May available to enjoy the amazing Brighton Festival together with the Fringe Festival and the Open Houses. I usually get my cultural fill during that time and at much lower prices, I've noticed, than in London.

Whatever the reason for your visit to Brighton, rest assured that you'll get a very warm welcome here.
