If you like - wild swimming, open fires, castles, hill-walking from the door, barbecues, garden next to a river, dark skies and astounding stars, high speed internet (fibre), Robert Burns, the sound of running water, biking, wood fired range and terrific kitchen, down -duvets, giant bathtubs, books and more books, maps, views, red squirrels, a ducal palace, otters, deep sofas, DVD screen for films by the fire, all from a 1745 centrally heated stone house - you will like this house very much.

L-ispazju
The Shinnel river runs around the garden. The house has two lovely sitting rooms, comfortable sofas, stone flagged hall, thick curtains, a library of books, 2 open fires (dry firewood provided) and a wood burning Esse range in a traditional kitchen - that is also equipped with convection oven, microwave, induction hob etc. and fine cookware. The house has full central heating, with good quality bedding and feather and down duvets.
There is a barbecue, outdoor furniture, swimming in the river and lots to do in the area. The three large double bedrooms and a Scottish 'box bed' & all the rooms have views to the hills and over the river.

Aċċess għall-klijenti
Guests will enjoy the whole house, the garden; and with Scotland's right-to-roam there is unlimited hill walking directly from the house in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The house is in a quiet glen with most attractive roads for biking on circular routes with village amenities close by.

Affarijiet oħra li għandek tagħti kas
All fuel and logs & landline phone calls included: golf, mountain biking and fishing nearby, the local town (7 miles) offers fine dining, pubs, grocery stores, an excellent butcher, a chocolatier and more.
Charmingly enclosed in the old school shelter is outdoor furniture, for those damp days when you want to be out of the house yet dry. For summer evenings there is a barbecue and a circle of logs around a fire pit by the river to enjoy as the light fades. There is internet, DVD video but no television! With Scotland's "right to roam" laws, this is a walkers' paradise.

Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, United Kingdom

Bike to Drumlanrig Castle estate, Thornhill and Moniaive - both with shops and pubs and restaurants; closest railway stations at Sanquhar and Dumfries. This is a very pretty and traditional part of Scotland, with hills all around to walk in and explore. There are many local activities to enjoy, including art, music and book festivals, and important historic houses, castles and monuments.
The Buccleuch & Queensberry hotel has an excellent restaurant, and in the house log book you will find many more recommendations. The local grocery shops in Thornhil are open every day and you can therefore stock up on supplies on arrival. Tesco will deliver into the glen.
