Rosie's Retreat is an exclusive private property located in the old city just a minutes walk from the City Palace and within walking distance of tourist attractions, restaurants and a variety of shops.
It is located on a quiet no traffic side street.

My guests benefit from a private and independent stay.
My room rates are extremely reasonable and we do not offer discounts.

The staff come at 9 am and leave at 12 pm.
They are not available after this time.
Rosie's Retreat is not a hotel and does not offer hotel services.
The manager, Parikshit, is always available should guests need help or advice.

Breakfast is included.

Our staff are vaccinated.

The team at Rosie's Retreat follow a very strict enhanced cleaning protocol.

The Lakeside and Courtyard Studio can be rented together if guests require the whole property.

The Lakeside Apartment is for one couple only.

Full tourist information is offered in the room and either Rosie or a member of her team are always contactable for help or advice.

The Lakeside Apartment is a luxurious self catering private apartment overlooking the beautiful Lake Pichola, having a small fully equipped kitchen.
It is on the first and second floors of Rosie's Retreat.
The entrance to the apartment is from the central courtyard of the property.
The bedroom has a luxury King size bed dressed in beautiful hand block printed cotton bedsheets and quilt and cosy feather pillows.
There are bedside tables, a chest of drawers, wardrobe and two armchairs. A selection of books and magazines are offered for guests enjoyment as is Chess, Backgammon and Scrabble.
The room is fully air conditioned. There is also a fan and a room heater.
The bedroom window looks straight out over Lake Pichola.
The attached bathroom boasts the 'best power shower in India', loo and washbasin.

Handmade dressing gowns are provided for guests use during their stay and a hair dryer.
The water tank is one thousand litres and the heated tank is fifty litres at one time.
If you use all the hot water please allow the hot water heater a short time to reheat between showers.

Outside the bedroom is the beautiful green and lush breakfast terrace where guests can enjoy morning coffee.
There is a small fully equipped kitchen adjoining the breakfast courtyard.

Up a flight of stairs is the fabulous private roof terrace overlooking the lake with comfortable lakeside seating, a bamboo house with a traditional charpai bed inside for snoozes or staying out of the sun or rain and a brazier for chilly winter evenings.

We do not accommodate extra guests in the Lakeside Apartment. Please also reserve the Courtyard Studio downstairs if extra accommodation is required.
There is secure paid parking at Kamal Niwas, Bhatiyani Chohatta , just five minutes walk from Rosie's Retreat.
A member of our staff will assist with luggage.
Rosies Retreat is approximately 1 hour from Udaipur airport.
We offer airport pick up and drop off at an extra charge.
Aditya on our travel desk can assist with all travel arrangements.

Rosie's Retreat does not have facilities for children.

I have a long connection with India as my ancestor, Lord Cornwallis, was Governor General of India twice and my mother's family were involved in the tea and jute business in Assam.
I have another homestay, The Magic Cottage just outside Praid, in the stunning Salt Valley of Harghita County, Transylvania, Romania which offers two rooms.
The Magic Cottage is open all year round.
