A 70 Sqm open plan ‘loft’ in a renovated 1930s biscuit factory just 200m from Bethnal Green tube station. The studio room with its solid, hand crafted oak floor is light and airy with 3.6m high ceilings, a separate kitchen and mezzanine for sleeping.

L-ispazju
The apartment is a 70 Sqm open plan ‘loft’ in a renovated 1930s biscuit factory just a couple hundred meters from Bethnal Green tube station. The Studio room is light and airy with 3.6m high ceilings and a solid, hand crafted, oak floor. Large double glazed windows add to the feeling of light and space. There's a mezzanine with a cosy double bed and its own flat-screen TV and a separate kitchen. The apartment is available for lets of three months or longer.
The apartment is lightly furnished with a dinning table and stools – (made just up the road on Brick Lane) – a bean bag from Camden Road Market, floor-to-ceiling book shelves, movable red and pink cupboards and a day bed tucked up against one of four radiators. Double doors open onto a wide walkway facing south east – a great place for the plants to flower in spring and summer.
The kitchen is two steps up from the main living space. Hand built units are complemented with a custom designed stainless steel worktop with sink and SMEG gas hob ‘pressed’ seamlessly into the surface with a SMEG electric oven slung underneath. There’s a full size dishwasher, integrated fridge freezer and enough storage for a wide variety of dishes, plates, pots and pans and food. A handy blackboard wall is a great place to write shopping lists, messages or New Year resolutions.
So if you don’t fancy going out to dinner in Shoreditch, Hoxton, Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Columbia Road or Broadway Market, stay in and enjoy cooking in the kitchen.
If you’re staying in you’ll want to make use of all the entertainment: Apple Mac; BT unlimited broadband, wi-fi and Netflix; a Sony sound system connected to BOSE wall speakers. There’s a selection of DVDs and books and an extensive music library on iTunes.
The sleeping area is tucked away in a cosy back corner at the rear of the apartment, accessed by a custom built ladder. It’s a smallish space but big enough for a double bed, a recessed library shelve and a wall mounted TV. It’s great up here in winter – warm and snug – and is a great place to stretch out and listen to the digital radio.
The Studio is conveniently located near to Bethnal Green tube station but is tucked away from the high street in a central courtyard.

Affarijiet oħra li għandek tagħti kas
While the apartment is ideal for a couple, or two friends who don't mind sharing a bed, the space also works for a couple with a young child, as the daybed in the main living area can be made up as a night bed. Please email us if you're travelling with a child.

East End
The East End is London’s new ‘funky quarter’. Bethnal Green, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Columbia Road and Brick Lane are vibrant and developing, full of art galleries, bars and restaurants, street art and ‘happenings’. All of this is within easy walking distance of the apartment.
It’s a quick tube ride to the Olympic Stadium (or about 20 minutes on a Boris Bike) and an easy 15 minutes tube ride to Covent Garden and the West End. If you’re thinking of living here for work getting to the City is easy (2 stops to Bank) and Canary Wharf is a short connect via the DLR at Stratford. There’s plenty of history here too.

I'm a lecturer, translator and curator - and I'm an Airbnb host and also a frequent guest in Airbnb homes. I lived in London from the early 2000s to autumn 2015, when I moved to Whitstable with my husband and our little baby boy. We still work in London and when nobody is staying in our apartment in Bethnal Green we stay there ourselves. This way we get the best of both worlds - country and city :-) A bit more about myself... I've recently published a book on cars and speed, which I continue to be interested in (both in a theoretical and a practical sense). I'm a big opera fan and my favourite writer is Julio Cortazar (check his "Instructions on how to climb a staircase" - might come in useful if you ever stay in an Airbnb space with lots of stairs!)
