A child could be catered for on a fold out mattress at no extra charge. Our place is walking distance to local shops, cafe, clubs and ferry over to Newcastle city. ***MIN 3 nights stay during Supercars***
The studio is located within a bungalow in our back yard. It would be ok to bring a small dog but must discuss prior to booking. Pickup from Newcastle Airport can be arranged for a small fee.

This listing is the cheapest in the city itself last time I looked. Its right in the middle of the city not a suburb or more away. There is NO CLEANING FEE. Unless u don’t clean up the kitchen according to the house rules there is a wifi camera recording in the kitchen $15 fee will be charged for each meal when u don’t finish cleaning the kitchen. This place is within walking distance to every thing this city has to offer. Please note that u are SHARING the common areas with 2 other bedrooms I live on-site in detached studio out the back if you need advice. If you expect 5 star experience for a 2 star price you will not get it here, please go somewhere else. I don't offer PERFECTION I offer a good room in a great location for a very affordable rate I clean once a day fresh linen between guests. This is not a hotel there is no cleaner waiting to clean up after you. AIRBNB expect 5 star review 100% of the time, this listing has been blocked 4 times this year (owing to dropping below 4.5% this is because some mean spirited guests that did not give 5 stars) then guests who may desperately need a place to stay(up to 10pm instant book)that they can afford cannot do so, so I say again if you are super fussy type with unreasonable expectation for this type of listing please go somewhere else I would like to stay in business. This is a beautiful little self contained bungalow located at the back of my house. You will have everything you need for a comfortable and unique stay in this (very!) light-filled space. All the windows are leadlight and the soaring window at the front (from a 100 year old church in the Hunter Valley) adds to the distinctive charm. You will have your own access. You can park in the driveway or on the street (unrestricted on weekends and after hours. Otherwise its a 2hr limit)
You are welcome to use anything in the fridge and pantry, and there will be an abundance of breakfast provisions. I’m sure you will be tempted by the glorious cooking smells which waft in from Darby st every afternoon though!
Cooks Hill is a heritage listed suburb with a very interesting history so even if you don't venture further afield, the streets in this neighborhood are very picturesque. Darby street (the next street over) is the most popular cafe district in Newcastle and there are plenty of beautiful clothes and gift shops as well. We are also lucky to be surrounded by art galleries. The Newcastle Art Gallery is right at the end of this street and there are other private galleries right in this area. If you do feel like walking or riding a bike (there are lots of bike hire places, or you can borrow mine), there are a lot of great areas to explore. Bar Beach is only a 15 minute walk away and is a beautiful example of the amazing beaches we have here. Beach towels, beach umbrellas and sunscreen are all provided. If you go there at lunch time Swell kiosk makes great food. You can walk up the hill from Bar Beach to historic King Edward Park and while you're there have a dip in the Bogie Hole. In the other direction is the (working) harbor where you can sit and watch the ships coming in. If you feel like a walk from there, you can walk right along to the lighthouse, and out along the breakwall. If it's the right time of year you may spot some whales, otherwise there are often dolphins in the harbor. There are heaps of cafes, bars and restaurants in that area so it is certainly a great place to be at night-time as well. For things you might need, there is a corner shop just around the corner, and Aldi supermarket is a 5min walk. There is also a chemist on Darby street. There is a big shopping centre (Market-town) about a 15min walk away where you will find two supermarkets, medical centre, chemists, bottle shops, and loads of other shops.

Stay in a heritage terrace in the booming suburb of Newcastle East, with the bottom level all yours during your stay. This sprawling studio apartment is in the heart of the East End, it is walking distance from the CBD, beaches and the harbour. Local cafes, restaurants and convenience stores all close by or get the tram to the buzzing food hub of Darby St.
You will have access to the bottom level of the terrace, with private access and private deck. - 'The parlour': set up as the main bedroom, which includes a queen bed, and one of the single mattresses which doubles as a longe when it is not required. This connects directly to the kitchen. -The kitchen: fully equipped kitchen, with basics including tea, coffee and milk provided. The pantry will also have basics in it, which you are welcome to use. - Study/ second bedroom: This area we used to use as a study but we have set up with the second single mattress. Perfect for the kids, but it does get a bit cold in this room in winter and many people prefer to move the bed into the front room. The base is on wheels so we will leave this up to you. Please note this area connects to the bathroom. - Bathroom: shower, bath and toilet, washing machine provided for your use Please note that our place is very open plan living and to get to the bathroom you have to walk through the second bedroom. Also, we do live above the advertised area so you may be able to hear us walking around and we may cross paths outside the premises.
Newcastle East is a vibrant community, with prime location between Newcastle and Nobbys beach. We are located opposite Fort Scratchley which includes a play equipment and large grass area. It is a great destination to visit to get some history of Newcastle or take the kids up to burn off some energy.

A club with dining facilities, is close by, and 7 mins away in Wallsend, are many restaurants.
This place exudes serenity, although part of a city it is very quiet and with the bush close by has many birds and water dragons visit often!
Public buses travel close by and the train station to Newcastle and Sydney is only 5 mins drive away. If traveling to the Newcastle Airport which is 3/4 hour away, I am happy to collect people for a lesser fee than the Airport Shuttle.

The house sits on the edge of Islington Park-walking/cycling tracks. Around the corner from amazing coffee shops, vintage, boutique and retro shops, pubs, restaurants, main bus stops and train station.
Although it's a wonderful space, please note, it is small. It is a singular room with everything your heart could desire in it. The bathroom is NOT separate. Once again for those up the back, the bathroom is NOT seperate. As long as you have no problem with this you will adore it. The studio is villa style, directly attached to the studio apartment next door, although completely independent and private. Please note that we live directly next door in the adjoining studio and we have two young children. There is the usual sounds that accompany family life to be heard. Also the “kitchen” is very basic. It’s compiled of a BBQ, Kettle, Toaster, Microwave and Bar Fridge. We love to keep our guests happy, but we also like to share the way we choose to live, as we feel this is a part of the beauty of the Airbnb community. We want our guests to be well informed so there are no surprises so incase you didn’t notice in the details or photos, please be aware that there is no aircon and no TV, there are hides and a cow skull in the studio (we sourced these locally and ethically and we are happy to provide extra details) The entrance is through a garden space and is reasonably tight (50cm the size of a caravan door), please be aware of this. You will have to brush past plants to enter, we understand everyone isn’t into nature as much as us, and on the nature note there are no screens on the French doors. If any or all of these details are an issue for you please refrain from booking.
The house sits on edge of the park. Islington Park, located on Throsby Creek, has a beautiful cycleway that links Islington to the redeveloped Newcastle foreshore. It's a beautiful walk/ride. Islington is located at the north-eastern end of Beaumont Street, the restaurant precinct of Newcastle so there's loads of cafe's and resteraunts as well as amazing coffee shops and great pub meal deals. Known as the antique/retro district of Newcastle, with numerous retro and antique shops as well as boutiques primarily located on Maitland Road, which also houses Islington's main trade area, with more shops/bars/cafes on Beaumont Street. The community garden is around the corner and the park hosts two sets of public gym equipment, children's play equipment and public BBQs.
