This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. If you intend to bring a pet (or two) please message me BEFORE booking to confirm details and the pet fee. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv with HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.

I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. Our stunning guest house has everything you need! Revel in the luxurious, lofted queen bedroom, where vaulted ceilings & large windows deliver floods of natural light. Cook a special meal over wine in the modern kitchen, or indulge in complimentary Stumptown coffee & organic cream! Walk 1 block to bustling Division St to restaurants, coffeeshops, foodcarts, & other urban adventures! Escape to the forests of Mt Tabor, just a 10-minute walk! Enjoy privacy- guesthouse is at the back of property :-)
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Tasty & Daughters, Petite Provence, Fern Kitchen), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.

5 miles from Airport. Approx. $15 Uber or Lyft ride! Virus cleaning precautions: read description to see what measures we are taking to create a healthy stay. Cozy bedroom with warm, lively colors. This house was featured in Portlandia's 2014 season in the hilarious "Rent-It-Out," sketch! Perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Portland. We have a 5 y.o. and are in and out of the house from 8am-8pm. Quiet hours are 10pm-7am and are truly quiet.
Virus cleaning precautions: staying healthy is important to us and you are included in that! We are taking extra measures to sanitize all surfaces: doorknobs, light switches, faucet handles, anything hands would touch many times/day. Additionally and always, sanitized and fresh linens are stocked including a new duvet cover for every guest. Please take advantage of Airbnb’s more lenient cancellation policy if you are sick and need to cancel. Likewise, we promise to cancel reservations if we fall ill. Thank you for your attention and care while we all work to create a clean and healthy environment for all of us. I am pleased and excited to announce that this house has been graced by none other than Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein of Portlandia for a sketch entitled "Rent-It-Out!" More Portlandia photos coming soon... Private room with Queen size bed in my home near Alberta Arts district. Surrounded by gardens and artistic works, this home is a gallery and gathering space for special events such as concerts, yoga classes, art openings and other happenings. This is the Cully neighborhood with large, sprawling lots full of gardens and mature trees and walking distance to all of the art, food and music you desire on Portland's famous Alberta Street. Near major bus lines and MAX, this town is known for it's simple and efficient public transportation. Our neighborhood has it all though: art galleries, wine bars, sake house, sushi, Thai Food, African food, Ale houses, a plethora of restaurants, music venues, parks, shopping, art and food carts, tea houses, dessert spots, bike rental, bike paths, walking paths, unique local-made clothing/jewelry, vintage second-hand store, theatre, New Season's grocery store offering conscious, organic choices, and a couple of pizza pubs and food carts. The bedroom is spacious with about 180 sq. ft, a queen size bed, other sitting options, good light, bamboo floor, and a shared restroom just a few feet away. During your stay, you may encounter private vocal or guitar lessons (you are invited to book a private session!), concerts open to the public (and you!) or an occasional facilitated public event. We’ll make sure you get a heads-up and an invite. The house has many common spaces to enjoy such as the living room, front porch and garden in the front yard. Here you can expect a peaceful, relaxing stay or getaway. The house is clean, tidy, bright and welcoming. Currently I am showing ceramics, photographs and paintings. More to come! I am a ceramic artist and have works on display. The pictured baby grand piano is used by Portland vocalist Jonathan Brinkley to teach voice lessons from time to time. His sessions are playful, inspiring, refreshing, and benefit more than just singing. He is available should you decide you'd like an impromptu lesson!
We’re close to Alberta St., NE 42nd Ave, NE Fremont and NE Killingsworth and only a few miles from Mississippi St.. Tons to do/see/eat/play and explore in our hood!

In the middle of a restaurant, brewery, coffee, and Portlandia paradise! This private one bedroom apartment is located in the vibrant Hawthorne District, considered to be one of the best neighborhoods for tourists in the city! Close to everything! Whatever your reason may be for visiting Portland, my place is in an ideal geographical location and in close proximity to many of Portland's top destination spots. The apartment has great views of the city and overlooks the Burnside Bridge and Willamitte River. I like to keep my place clean with all the modern essentials of an apartment such as a Chemex, All-Clad cookware, linen sheets, and a fridge full of all sorts of hot sauces to name a few.
This studio apartment has exposed concrete in which a wall separates the living and bedroom space. There is a queen bed in the bedroom area and a futon couch in the living room area, which is surrounded by plants and terrariums. The kitchen is equipped with All-Clad cookware, Bodum french press, Bodum tea press, Chemex, Hario manual coffee grinder, cookbooks, and other items for your culinary needs. I have a water filter and drinks in the fridge that you are welcome to as well as a free range use of everything in the kitchen, including teas and Yerba Mate in the drawers. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment that you have access to. In the bathroom, I have available Kiehl's shampoo and face wash as well as local favorite from Portland's very own Maak Lab multi-use wet soap, which can be used on body, hand, face, and hair.
The apartment has great views of the city and overlooks the Burnside Bridge and Willamitte River. It is blocks away from Portland favorites like Olympia Provisions (best eggs benedicts), Ristretto Roasters, Water Avenue Coffee, Sizzle Pie, Le Pigeon, and Nong’s Khao Man Gai and Voodoo Donuts and Stumptown Coffee are just across the bridge.

Your safety is our top priority. We are following Airbnb's guidelines in how to clean the Magic Barn. Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored with old growth barn wood, upcycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located 3 blocks to SE Hawthorne and Division's charming restaurant and boutique district. 15 min to airport, 10 min to downtown and convention center. Rental bikes within 3 blocks, ample street parking.
Your safety is our top priority. We are following all of Airbnb's advanced cleaning protocols with love. The Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio for fifteen years. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were sculpted right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. The four bedroom Magic House is also available to be booked separately in conjunction with the Magic Barn to provide more space if you have a group. Please feel free with questions to see if we can accommodate the needs of your group: The Magic House Link: https://airbnb.com/h/themagichouse Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a crooked old shed with broken windows, no electricity, water or heat and was filled with trash. Todji turned it into his sculpture studio, and then purchased the house in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anyone, including self-employed artists! Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house and building his career as a fine art sculptor. Todji and Gisele painted the outside of The Magic House and Magic Barn with seven colors over three summers. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure, and Gisele's beautiful painting! TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from areas around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. Hobie is your onsite host and he He is a novelist and professional writer. He is available to both respect privacy and also assist during your stay. We support the local art community by giving cleaning and maintenance work at the Magic House to community artists. Thank you for reading our story, we hope to host you at the Magic Barn!
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) A quiet, cozy bedroom & a bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. There is an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedrooms, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific ramen shop, a pizza joint, two coffee shops, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.

The result is warm and functional space that maximizes every inch while still feeling open, airy and comfortable. Hello! My co-host (Mimi) and I both live here, own & manage this multi-use property. The Vic was built in 1896 & has a lot of old Portland charm. Besides having a popular Mexican food cart right out front, we are located just 2 blocks away from very popular NW 23rd Avenue where you'll find a huge variety of unique places to shop, eat, drink, be merry and people watch. Also, a bus stop is just 2 blocks away or use Uber/Lyft/car to get downtown in only 5-10 minutes.
A spacious furnished private bedroom includes a comfy queen bed, a loveseat, desk with chair, closet, fireplace, cable T.V. and clean linens. The room has a keyed deadbolt lock for your privacy.
The NW Alphabet District offers a variety of wonderful art, clothing, yoga, coffee, specialty shops, pubs, grocery stores and restaurants. Walking down NW 23rd Avenue is a great way to interact with Native Portlanders. Take NW 23rd Avenue all the way to Burnside Street (turn left-East) then pass Powells books and other sights all the way to Voodoo donuts and explore the waterfront to get an even better feel of the city.

If you're a fan of great food, craft beer, pour-over coffee, this is your place. My apartment is situated in the famous Buckman District - which neighbors many of Portland's top-rated restaurants and bars, vintage shops, and offers some of the best people-watching around. My place is great for couples, solo adventures, and business travelers. With a convenient home base within walking distance to the neighborhood hot spots, you can get an authentic taste of how the hipsters live in Stumptown.
Tastefully furnished in true Portland fashion, this studio apartment boasts a unique charm. The apartment is cozy and relaxed, with large windows allowing plenty of natural light and a comfy mattress to lay down on. Those rainy days are perfect for cuddling up and watching movies on the 55" LED flat-screen Smart TV. We have access to Netflix, and blazing fast WiFi for other streaming. If you feel like eating in, there's a fully equipped kitchen to easily host your crew. After spending the day walking, shopping, and eating, you'll love coming home to a super comfy queen-size bed. My apartment has heating so you can stay warm in the winter, but currently does not have A/C.
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance to a wide variety of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!) Make new friends over some vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna - all within a 1.5 mile stretch. But Portland isn't just for foodies. There’s vibrant indie spirit in Hawthorne, with lots of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore here in hipster heaven. Or, catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. And if bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.

Get comfortable in your own home while visiting northeast Portland's charming Woodlawn neighborhood. The guesthouse is brand new and boasts quality construction, craftsmanship, and attention to detail with a modern aesthetic.
The exposed wood beams and open floor plan create a cozy, light-filled atmosphere. A clean, crisp, well-equipped kitchen, a fresh bathroom, and your own queen-sized bedroom area with relaxing sitting area (and an upstairs loft with double-bed) will more than cover your lodging needs. You'll have your own covered front porch and courtyard area to enjoy the fresh air.
Woodlawn, aka the Dekum Triangle, is a cozy residential neighborhood with a small commercial district. There is a trendy bar (Tough Luck), Mexican restaurant (Tamale Boy), and fizzy winery (Hi-Wheel) two blocks away. A six block walk will bring you to the heart of the triangle, with one of Portland's best microbreweries (Breakside), and a number of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. If you're looking for a more upbeat scene, Alberta Street (with destination spots like Salt & Straw, Pine State Biscuit, and Proud Mary) is a mile away, with the beautiful Alberta Park along the way. The airport is conveniently 15 minutes away, as is downtown.
