Food Scene
It still manages to feel like a pub, despite the dominance of food. It has two menus, a 'bar' menu and a 'restaurant' menu but they are both excellent, the food is always great.

Another pub that serves excellent food. Not quite as nice a pub atmosphere as the Plough in Sparsholt, in my view, but still well worth a visit.

As an atheist I can still thoroughly recommend a visit to Winchester's cathedral. It is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe and it is nearly 1,000 years old. Find out about the diver that saved the cathedral from sinking.

It is rare to find a nature reserve so close to the centre of a town. A full walk round the Moors is about one mile. If you're lucky you might see deer, ducks, swans (watch out if they're on the path, they can be very protective of their space!) and other animals.

Sightseeing
Just appreciate how beautiful Winchester is. See the buttercross, installed in the 15th century: in 1770 it was sold to a Mr Dummer but when he tried to remove the citizens of Winchester organised a riot and saved it for the city!
