Stunning waterfall head North out of Taupo and turn right where it says Huka Falls. About 10 minutes drive from here. This is tourist central with over 1 million visitors per year but worth a visit.

These rapids are gorgeous to watch and water is released at specified times. Great to watch the water fill the rapids when the damn opens. Some of the most memorable scenes from Peter Jackson's Hobbit
