There's a beach, but the gently winding road up the mountain will be worth the trip. Appalachian trail crossings, as well as a small beach, marinas and some great eats make this drive worth going a little beyond Bristol. Head for Elizabethton and on your way back try the local downtown restaraunt The Coffee Company - Check for hours open.
