Once a rail line, the old right of way has been converted to a multi-use recreational path connecting Port Colborne with Fort Erie some 30 kilometres to the east. The 24 km path is straight and easy with virtually no elevation change. Along on the Friendship Trail there is easy access to scores of golden sand beaches on the shores of Lake Erie. The route parallels the north shore of the lake as it passes through farmland, villages, and quiet residential areas. With stunning views of the Buffalo skyline and a nature trail within easy hiking distance, the Friendship Trail offers options for enthusiasts of all sorts.
