every saturday there is a small local food market here. we recommend to do a tour of the canals on one of the friendship boats as these are open boats and have live guide on board. go to their website to see where you can board (across from the Rijksmuseum and Anne Frank house for example)

there are quite a few branches of IJscuypje around the city all nice. This one is on the NDSM, you can take a (free) ferry to the NDSM via Houthavens, Pontsteiger or behind Central Station. this area is a bit raw, more industrial - up and coming
