Food Scene

This is a locals favorite! We love it because it is healthy, quick, central, affordable, and locally owner for nearly 30 years.

We had our first date here! A wee hidden locals gem run by the same couple for over 20 years, Danny will chat you up whether you are at the bar, restaurant, or getting pizza to go.

Parks & Nature

A beautiful, less busy spot to cycle with kids or walk and enjoy beautiful autumn colors. Sometimes we bring a picnic here and the views are stunning.

We have an amazing trail network that is relatively new. Cycling it is one of my favorite things to do, especially in autumn. You can also rent an e-bike and ride it all the way to Gibbston Valley return & stop for lunch. One of our favorite activities.

Essentials

Basic (often overpriced) food & booze. Run by a very nice local couple and great for last minute items. Only a few minutes up the road.

This is the large grocery store where we go to do bigger shops. They carry everything and seem to have the lowest prices, but are about a 15 minute drive.

Getting Around

The bus stop is a 1-minute walk from our home (corner of Cameron Place & Fernhill Road). It runs every 15 mins (daytime) & ride to town takes 5 minutes. Rides are $5 cash or $2 with Go Card anywhere in area (including Arrowtown & Airport). Groups can use the same Go Card ($5 for card). Driving in Queenstown is not relaxing. We take the bus as it is very close to home, cheap, frequent and you won’t have to find or pay for parking in town. Walking track to Queenstown at the end of Cameron Place. If you walk to the cul-de-sac end of our block.
