A walkers' paradise, with over 15 miles of tracks and trails, and a cafe to rest your weary legs when all walked out. National trust property. Stunning scenery. Situated above Hebden Bridge. I recommend you choose the car park at the far end of the Crags Clough Hole car park (HX7 7AZ). It is a quieter car park, although it is also steeper walking here (steps and rough tracks) but closer to the best viewpoint and the lovely Gibson Mill for delicious ice-cream. Fine for reasonably fit people but good walking shoes recommended. There are also more gentle paths that wind along the river - you can see a map on the website to choose your preferred route. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hardcastle-crags

A pretty market town on a river, within a short drive. Lots of cafes and restaurants. You can walk from here on a steep path to Heptonstall and visit the grave of Sylvia Plath. Or stroll around the park and canal area - a nice little coffee place in the centre of the park. Tip for parking: Park at the railway station just before you enter Hebden Bridge, on your left. There are more spaces and less congestion and the parking is cheaper here. As you walk away from the parking, there is an entrance on the left to the park and you can stroll via the river and the park to the centre of town.

Just a minute's walk to the right as you leave the apartment is this combination vinyl store and coffee shop. But don't pass it by if you are not interested in vinyl - the pastries, bread and coffee are EXCELLENT. Just a few tables, but a lovely relaxed atmosphere with the friendliest of staff. The cinnamon buns are phenomenal and the fruit toast is gorgeous. You can buy freshly baked loaves there too. Recommended!
