Parks & Nature
This friendly and shady little park is located in the heart of Algiers Point, and has playground equipment suitable for children aged 2-12. There are picnic tables (with painted chess and checkers setups) under the cypress trees, and a small grass/cedar chipped area suitable for running and playing with tractors. The park is enclosed by a gorgeous sculpture that serves as fence, created by artist Steve Kline.

Touch a sting ray, feed a parakeet, and marvel at our gigantic sharks, tarpon, and rays in the 400,000 gallon Gulf of Mexico Exhibit. Watch for sea turtles throughout the Aquarium—as coordinator of the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program, we prepare many of them for release to the wild.
