If you are driving the 101 from the south, this store in the redwoods makes great burgers, including my favorite, their veggie burger (and I always add avocado). It's about an hour-and-a-half south of us.

It's a beautiful 4-mile drive from our place to the parking area at the end of Elk River Road. Then it's a gorgeous 11-mile out and back hike through the forest, with a paved trail for the first mile.
