Located just left to the Edinburgh Playhouse this bar is 5 minute walk from the flat. The atmosphere is amazing and the bar has theatre posters displayed throughout, signed by some of the world’s most famous performers.

Sightseeing

Edinburgh Castle is a fantastic place to learn about the historical background of Edinburgh and to take in some breath-taking views of the city. Admission is £17 for adults and £10.20 for children (5-15 yrs). To get to the castle, take the number 8 bus and get off at North-bridge and walk up the historic Royal Mile. While you visit the Castle, it is worth visiting the many different whiskey and Scottish produce shops along the Royal Mile.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh City Centre, the Botanical Gardens are an excellent place to wander around. There is also a café located within the grounds of the botanical gardens which serves as a nice place to rest. The number 8 bus will take you there.

The Edinburgh Tram line starts here on York Place. It is a 5-minute walk from your apartment and will take you to St Andrews Square, Princes Street, the West End, Murrayfield Stadium and on to Edinburgh Airport. The tram will make multiple stops between these locations, making it easy for you to quickly get around in the city centre. Remember you need to purchase a ticket to travel *before* you board the tram. Tram tickets cost £1.60 one way or £3.20 return. If you’re going to/from the airport this is £5.50. Ticket machines accept cash and card (£3 minimum if paying by card).
