Portmerion Village is a hotch potch of mostly Italian 16th and 17th century Villas which were shipped over in the early 19th century and built into a hillside in Wales, by an eccentric architect called Clough Williams-Ellis,
It really is a quirky unusual place and the walks and views are just stunning too.

One of our favourite things to do is a walk along the nature trail by the canal from Llangollen to Trevor. (it's a 5 mile walk)
For those less mobile of who want an easier trip, why not go on the canal boat that leaves every couple of hours.
You can walk over the Pontycyslet Aquaduct which spans the river Dee 200 feet up and gives breathtaking views.

Its a great Zoo with larger enclosures for the animals.
I appreciate this is not for everyone but if you like Zoos, this is one of the best.

If you set off early then Snowdonia national park is doable in a daytrip and its such a great day out with plenty to see and do from walks to climbing with Betws y Coed a great place for a spot of lunch.

Chester city is a wonderful place to visit. There are Roman city walls that surround the city and it is a great way of getting around to take in the sights. There are also many unusual shops in and around the centre
