Exeter has a huge range of dining, drinking and music spots. It's not London - nor is it even Bristol - but it's not bad at all! The Phoenix is excellent for arts and music entertainment, the Lemon Grove at the University has great bands. The Bike Shed downtown. SO much to do.

They say Gandy Street was the inspiration for a local girl to create Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. When you see it you'll understand why. Clothes, gifts, restaurants, cafes, bars...it's just a little more independent in feel than the high street.
