Plenty of shopping in the centre including the Liverpool One shopping area. Walk along the seafront, catch a ferry across the Mersey or visit the Baltic Market for food.

Southport has many attractions for tourists and is worth a visit for lunch, shopping or a stroll along the Promenade and around the Marine Lake. It also has some nice parks and many golf courses. The annual events include a Flower Show, Air Show, comedy, jazz and food festivals and a firework competition. There is a theatre, Conference Centre, Vue Cinema and swimming pool. Load Street, the main street, running through the town centre , has wide pavements, and veranda-covered shop frontages, ideal for all weathers.
