20.Don’t leave the house without umbrella, sunblock, cash, ID, and a light jacket (if you plan on staying out late, it can get chilly especially up in the hills)

There are a number of things that are out of our control when living in Jamaica: a.Power might go out at any moment (doesn’t last long) i.Generator is currently broken but flashlights available. b.Water may go out at any moment (often) luckily we have 2 large water storage that gives us water during these times. c.Water may take some time to get hot even with a hot water pump. d.Lightening will fry your electronics if you don’t plug them them out during a storm. So once you hear thunder please unplug your electronics, TV, and Wi-Fi please.

1.You are a foreigner in a foreign country: think smart, act smart, and be smart. More on this in person 2.Don’t flash jewelry, high tech electronics, or money when in public. This will make you a target for theft and/or assault. 3.Always lock your car. Even when driving or just parking it. 4.Never leave valuables in plain sight in your car. Nidus for theft. 5.Be careful drinking Jamaican rum! Take it slow, it’s strong!
