There is a big variety of eateries in Rotorua, from cheap and cheerful to mainstream to fine dining. HIGHER END RESTAURANTS Mokoia Restaurant https://www.mokoiarestaurant.co.nz/ The Regent Room – dining experience at the Millennium https://regentrotorua.co.nz/dine/the-regent-room-restaurant Stratosfare (Take the Gondola up to Skyline and get the best views in town on a fine night) https://www.skyline.co.nz/en/rotorua/dining/stratosfare-restaurant/ I have heard great things about these places but not eaten there yet myself. It would pay to book, depending on the time of year you will be visiting. Eat Street At the lake end of the main street, they have created Eat Street. A walking area only with lots of restaurants and bars, all under a high canopy, allowing an alfresco experience – sort of! My favourite place there is Atticus Finch. https://atticusfinch.co.nz/ A sort of tapas / sharing experience – yummy food. The Brew Bar http://www.brewpub.co.nz/ is where you can get locally crafted beers, once again yummy, watch out for them at other restaurants around Rotorua as a few of them support them (great choice though!) It would pay to wander around and choose what you were feeling like. Within Rotorua I always think it unfair to those restaurants NOT in Eat Street. My personal favourites are: Abracadabra Café with lovely evening meals http://www.abracadabracafe.com/ Terraces Restaurant https://www.terrace.kitchen/ And the BEST cheap and cheerful Indian food in Rotorua is Chimney https://chimney-indian-restaurant.site123.me/ The Pig and Whistle https://www.pigandwhistle.co.nz/ do a great pub meal too, right in the centre of town.
