I love good food and a local vibe. If you want to experience NOLA away from the quarter, then check out these recommendations.
If you can go before 7p on a Fri/Sat, then you'll beat the crowds. Absolutely everything is delicious on this menu. The most tender and perfectly fried catfish I've ever had. Get it with the mac and cheese and red beans and rice (not on the menu, but they'll do it). The chargrilled oysters are amazing, as well as the Pasta on the Bayou. And if you dare, wash it all down with a Bow Wow, a punch drink with 10 shots!

They have an amazing combination of local New Orleans recipes and Latin cuisine. I've only ever eaten from their breakfast menu, but they have lunch as well. Vegan and vegetarian options are marked on the menu. They swap out eggs for tofu scramble for FREE!!

Believe it or not, New Orleans can be pretty vegan-friendly if you know where to go. Good thing I can help you!
Oh yes, you can be vegan AND enjoy NOLA classics!! Everything here is vegan and it's oh so good. Amazing prices as well!! It's more of a pick up and go spot, but the best places are.

If you find yourself in the French Market, pop on over for some scrumptious eats! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner! You'll find them in the food court area. They have vegan beignets :)

I bet you didn't know that New Orleans has AMAZING Vietnamese food, did you?! And ones with vegan options!! Mint Modern has the best vegan Pho on the east bank (if you want to make your way to the westbank, I'll give you recommendations). 14 Parishes is a delicious Jamaican restaurant with a cute vibe. They have three vegan options, the rasta pasta, the curry chana and potato, and fried cauliflower. Get the pasta if you want a lot of food. The chana is also delicious

Tsunami has three vegan sushi rolls to choose from. I usually order one of each, and that's a great satisfying meal. tje restaurant is downtown off St Charles, so you can take the streetcar there. It's a nice classy vibe inside.

Kindred is 100% vegan and is open for dinner during the week and brunch, lunch and dinner on the weekend. It's super cute inside and very close to the house (like a mile away).

New Orleans knows how to party, and you can't party well without a great happy hour. You're lucky that I am a happy hour queen. Enjoy my recommendations!

It's not a trip to NOLA without having fun! Here are some of my favorite spots to have a good time, or enjoy some people watching.
Every night you can enjoy live music with free entry at various bars up and down this street! My favorite night is Monday at 30/90 where a live band plays til 3a and people can request to get on stage and either sing or play an instrument. It's like karaoke for real musicians!!
