Best Food in Sandpoint
In my opinion, these are the best spots in town to grab a bite.

VERY good. They have Chinese dishes too. We love the General Tso Chicken. Avoid the curry. It's just too spicy, and lacks flavor other than the spice. They have funky hours, and you'll want to call it in a long time ahead. They're usually a 45 minute wait...

It's a 20 minute drive out, but this little iconic General Store has a secret. The food here is really good! Great for lunches, but they have a weekly Prime Rib dinner that you need to RSVP for.

This grocery store is nearby to the guest home, and has a hot-food bar. It's hit or miss, but it's QUICK! Also fairly expensive... but when the kids are hangry and you don't want fast food go here. Also easy to grab a meal here to take to the beach.

Sandpoint Pub Crawl? Here's your List!
Here's a list of the breweries and pubs you can walk to from the house. If I didn't put it on here, there's a reason.
This is a fun place if you're feeling adventurous. They have mild to wild brews, and some odd food items. Best enjoyed on a nice day when the garage doors are open.

This is a family-friendly brewery. They make my personal favorite beers in town. They don't serve food here (aside from Sandpoint Curry on Thursday and Friday, YUM!), so you can bring in your own. A word of caution: there's a MickDuff's Restaurant a few blocks away. If you're trying to meet someone "at MickDuff's" can be problematic.

Okay, it's not a brewery, but they have a rotating selection of micro brew. If you're a beer aficionado, definitely check this out. Thursday is $1 beer night. The upstairs is great for families. The menu is stacked with some fantastic meals!

Bonus Points for this one! It's not walking distance from the house, but I consider it accessible by bike. You could also just buy individual cans from Winter Ridge Grocery and drink it on the back patio before you head out.

This place is great! It is next door to The Hive, so the atmosphere gets really fun before and after a good show. They occasionally have great live music. This is the nicest/cleanest bar in town that sells liquor. It is not family friendly.

I can't think of a better way to finish off the list than with some HATCHET THROWING! Have someone show you the technique. I spent about 2 hours bouncing the hatchet off the wall before I asked for a tutorial. Now it's not any harder than throwing darts. The legend has it that it got the name because whoever made the sign was so drunk that he misspelled it on one side. I can believe it... Definitely not family friendly.

Creations is THE best part of the community when it comes to kids. What they do and have done is amazing. They have a fantastic INDOOR playground/arts/crafts/library that is supported by donations. There is a toy store, but it's not your typical store. They have some cheap junk, but they also have a huge selection of art/science/aviation toys. Most of the cars they sell can be taken apart and put back together. They are located in the Cedar Street Bridge, which has a nice cafe, and also a wine & cheese vendor.

This is the best pizza! It is kid friendly, but small. It may be easier to order it and eat back at the house. It's walking distance, but crossing US-2 is sketchy with kids. By the way, we have a loaner 2-seat stroller with seatbelts that will make walking around town a little easier. Just let me know and I'll put it out for you.

Home to many events, but during the Farmer's Market season be SURE you go! Saturday and Wednesday. There's lots of local foods and crafts, and on Saturday there's live music. The kids all enjoy dancing around. We never miss a Market. Local tip: The bagel guy on Wednesday is legit! Unfortunately, he's not there on Saturday.

Obviously this is great in the ski season, but it's also great in the SUMMER! They have downhill mountain biking, zip lines, horseback riding, a playground, hiking trails galore, and you can ride the chairlift to the restaurant at the top for some mind blowing views!
