Martinsville is a small town, but there's some hidden gems that we love! Here's our favorites:
Our favorite place for a walk or a picnic! The walking trail goes around the lake, about 2 miles total. Say hello to the swan named Victoria, she is a widow now but enjoys her retirement days as the lake mascot and watches over the ducks and geese. The lake is private, but we are members and as our guests you have access. But please be respectful of the posted rules and NO feeding the swans or other wildlife.

One of the last of it's kind! Drive-in movie theatre with snack bar, restrooms, playground for the kids and digital sound linked through your car radio. Double features on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at sundown. March-November. It gets packed quickly, so get there early and bring blankets, lawn chairs and all the snacks!

Multiple river access points and the Dick and Willie trail system bring the best of the greenway close to our home. Paved walking trails, biking, picnic areas and river access for tubing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming.

The view speaks for itself! Around a 1 hr drive, but the hiking is worth it. Beautiful waterfalls!
