National Air and Space Museum
600 Independence Ave SWIt's a fan favorite.
I love it this place. Different from the other Smithsonian museums, and often missed, it houses the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution and other important foundations of our democracy.

The term Lobbyist comes from this hotel's lobby. President Grant used to walk there from the White House to get an afternoon drink every day. People would go to the lobby to try to talk to him about their issues..."lobbying" is born.

Its a drive out into Virginia but, it worth seeing George Washington's home and farm if you have the time on a nice day. The grounds are beautiful and less hectic than a museum.
