Sightseeing

Growing up in Sydney since I was born, these are some of the places I have grown to love. Even though I am as far as you can imagine from a tourist, these places are just so special that you should visit every single one to get the most out of Sydney!
Elizabeth Bay House is utterly amazing. It is open to the public and a definition of a living, breathing museum. If you go to the ground floor of the house, it will provide you with a historic guide of Potts Point.

I do this walk almost every day in Summer. I start from Shark Beach, then go to Milk Beach and then back to Shark Beach, via Vaucluse House and then to Watsons Bay Lighthouse. This is approximately a 10km walk in total and takes about 2 hours, however, has the best views Sydney has to offer. I do this almost every day for exercise in the warmer months and it's just so beautiful. I would stop in for a drink at Shark Beach Kiosk, and then lunch at Watsons Bay Hotel. I have linked both of these places to my guidebook!

This is the beach I grew up on with my uncle Theo. He used to take me every Saturday for a caramel magnum (I'm still addicted to these thanks to him)! It's a beautiful local beach with easy transport from my apartment by bus (325 number, if you look up on Tripview). From here you can walk to Milk Beach and then Watsons Bay Lighthouse!

One of the most scenic beaches in Sydney. I wouldn't recommend this for swimming, Shark Beach is much nicer, however, you will have all the beautiful scenery to take some awesome snaps of beautiful Sydney! This is my first stop on my walk from Shark Beach to Milk Beach, then back to Shark Beach and onto Watsons Bay Lighthouse.

One of the most iconic walks in Sydney. There are a thousand and one things to do on this walk. I would highly recommend eating at the local cafes in Bronte on this walk, as they are less busy than Bondi. If you want to stop in for a drink, I would recommend Bondi Hotel!

My grandma lived across the road from this house. I used to love this park when I was younger and the castle and museum for now that I am older is just an added bonus. It's utterly beautiful and another 'Sydney Living Museum'. I would highly recommend visiting this place, they have a beautiful team room next door for afternoon tea!

This is a walk closer to where I currently live (the lower north shore) and is utterly amazing! It is about the same size walk as my other suggestion (approx 2 hours) but is absolutely amazing and more local and not as touristy. I would highly recommend this for a day across from the bridge!

An absolute gem just across from the Harbour Bridge! This is such a beautiful garden that is free for the public. Exploring MacMahons Point and the surrounding suburbs is perfect from this beautiful garden!

The best eats in Sydney

I am a massive fan of food. My family on my dads side moved to Australia in the 1950's and we were one of the first families to serve Lebanese and Greek cuisine in infamous Surry Hills. Emad's in my recommendation is where it all began, however, growing up in a household highly influenced by food culture, these are some of my favourites from all over Sydney!
This is a must visit. Some of the best views in Sydney and a great variety for lunch after the walk I have mentioned in the above recommendation (Watsons Bay Walk). For foodies, or stopping in on your walk this is a must visit!

As a greek man, this food does not disappoint. Some of the best greek food that Sydney has to offer. It can be a little bit on the costly side, however, it is a meal that you won't forget!

Every Saturday (weather permitting) this beautiful organic market takes place. Some of the best food Sydney has to offer. I would highly recommend the bacon and egg roll stand (with lots of Tobasco)!!

My Aunty owned this restaurant for over 30 years. My grandad bought the restaurant back in 1955 and we were one of the first families to make Backlava in Australia. The food is everything my family would serve on a Sunday lunch at this restaurant on my dad's side. It is very special to me and highly recommended!

My beautiful partner Remi - his family own and operate Sample Coffee. Everything from the beans to the types of coffee his family has sourced from all over the world. This is a 20 minute walk from all of my apartments, it's a perfect morning workout and what better way to finish this with fresh coffee!

This is one of the best Sushi Bars in Sydney and they do all you can eat sushi for $30. It is extremely fresh and very cheap (especially if you have an appetite such as myself)! Highly recommended and located very close to all my apartments!
