Transportation
Explore Amsterdam by bike! You can rent bicycles nearby (Van Hallstraat or on the Haarlemmerdijk). The tram and bus are also an efficient mode of transport. Will you be travelling to or from Rijksmuseum or Leidseplein, tram 3 is very convenient, since it starts right in front of the apartment. Buses 18, 21 and 22 take you to Centraal Station. When going to Amsterdam North, catch the free ferry at Centraal Station.

Free ferry to Amsterdam Noord
For many tourists, they will not be aware of the free ferries to Amsterdam North. To catch a ferry you go out the back of Centraal Station and cross the street. You can go in different directions (f.i. NDSM or Buikslotermeer). The ferry takes bicyclists, motorcycles and pedestrians across the IJ River to Amsterdam North (Amsterdam Noord). The ferry is free public transport; just walk on and is a short 2 and 1/2 minute ride. Once on the other side, there are a few attractions to visit including the Eye Museum and A’Dam Look Out.
