Food scene

Our friends Carol & LaNae Hull are a mother daughter team who opened a restaurant together after LaNae returned to her hometown from being a chef in Hawaii and Chicago. Everything is sourced as locally as possible and made from scratch including the breads, desserts and gelato!

Another favorite road biking pit stop is this coffee shop. The coffee is great but Dana the friendly owner makes it worth the quick detour from i-84. His wife Pam makes yummy pastries to pair with your coffee.

Wine & Beer

Kim and her family have beautifully restored a old grain elevator and warehouse to house their wine making & wine tasting. The wine is great and the setting is beautiful (of course i might be biased because my dad landscaped the facilities ;)

Our friends the Coleman’s raise delicious blueberries, and thousands of peony blossoms each spring, but they also brew a great beer! Enjoy your beer at their taproom they placed smack in the middle of the action of their brewery or head to their local spot in town called Neighbor Dudes.

The name says it all: local neighborhood tap house. Grab Thai take-out next door or a burritos from Ruty’s and pair it with a pint of your favorite beer or cider.

Lloyd & Lois make great wine and have restored historic buildings one-by-one in downtown Echo (we wonder what they’ll do with the historic brothel building!). Their tasting room is home to curated pieces from all over the world and the outdoor seating areas were designed and built themselves. Lois gives the warmest welcomes & Lloyd is quick to tell you his latest story from his world travels.

Sightseeing

Our favorite trail to run miles with friends from out of town. Park at the Hat Rock boat launch, hike up the hill and enjoy cliff-side views of the Columbia River. You can count on an epic sunset and maybe a few deer!
