Marks & Spencer do Restaurant quality ready meals that you can chuck in the oven. They do a meal deal including a bottle of wine also so that you can have a cosy night in with a bottle of wine and very little work for dinner.

Eight South has a great variety on their menu of both Irish favourites and also European and American style cuisine. If you want to go somewhere that would please most people then this is a great place to go. It also is more competitively priced than restaurants in Belfast City Centre. Its lovely just sitting with a log burning fire in view for a romantic meal or for larger groups to. This is my go to for Jonny's Birthday party as he loves the place.

This is my favourite Restaurant in all of Belfast. Made in Belfast is aptly named as all of the produce cooked can be locally sourced and the menu tells you where it comes from in Northern Ireland. I haven't had one bad meal in this place ever. It is a little more pricey than meals outside of Belfast City Centre but totally worth the Money.

This little Cafe that's on the way into Belfast is my favourite all time breakfast place and so I would commonly get off the bus here just to eat breakfast even if I didn't have a day ticket and then would have to either pay an extra fare to get into town or walk on in. It has a lovely Ambience and the food is just extra tasty. The streets to the side of it have free parking so its usually easy to get a parking space if going around 10am and then the traffic has died down too. If not just get an unlimited travel metro bus ticket and you are sorted to be able to get off here and pop back onto the bus afterwards. It is also a lovely walk if you come out of this place and walk into town.

This can be listed in 2 categories as the meals are great too. But for a night out where you don't have long to stagger home then its great.

This is a fabulous old style Bar that probably dates back to before America was founded. It was refurbished in 1885 which is when records really started on the place. If you look up online you will actually find a BBC programme about it. It used to be called the Railway Tavern as its just beside Great Northern Railways. The pub still has old style booths and its like stepping back in time. Draught Guinness from here is said to be the Best in Belfast. Get there early though as its hard to get a booth otherwise.

This place is good in the day time for a meal too. Its a very posh spot with lots of posing going on from the people in suits and work wear coming in in the evening to unwind. But during the day time you can get a seat in the window and people watch. The serve espresso and speciality coffees too. Its a very good experience looking out at the Gorgeous city hall having a bite to eat or a coffee and if your feeling naughty maybe an Irish coffee or something stronger.

This is worth a visit because it is a very well preserved theatre inside but also because there are some great shows.

Parks & Nature
This place is just beautiful, It has a lovely house but the Rose Garden is a must see too. Unfortunately public transport isn't really good to here but it is fairly close. If you go left coming out of our development and straight on at the traffic lights at the end of the road and then turn left at the roundabout. Then go straight on at the lights at the bottom of this road and continue to drumbeg where you will turn right and this will take you the the upper malone road, then turn right again and the park is on your left. This park is also on the cycle path between Belfast and lisburn.

This park has lots of little secluded spots. During term time you can see students on picnic blankets studying on the lawns. There is also a lovely Victorian Glass house. This is also a good shortcut from the back for Queens University from Queens. It has been seen in the TV series the fall.

Getting Around
You can rend bicycles in Belfast and use them to go on the Lagan Towpath. This is a great way to get in touch with nature while exploring as the Towpath goes the whole way from Comber where we live to Belfast and beyond. So its quite safe for families to use as there is no traffic, (although you have to watch the little ones at the waters edge).

Shopping
This is a small mall/shopping centre that is super close to our house. It has Marks and Spencers, Dunnes Stores, Monsoon, boots etc so although it is not huge it has the British Giant (Marks and spencers) and the Irish Giant (Dunnes Stores) right next door to eachother. It also has some cafes
