This is so much more than a museum. It's an indoor and outdoor learning and activity center for adults and children. Zoo, raptors, reptiles, plant species everywhere, aviaries, aquariums, geology, dinosaurs, caves, art galleries, special exhibits, restaurants, bookstore, gift shops and ice cream. Wow!

It was an experiment that failed for several reasons but nonetheless provided useful information. The site is currently overseen by the University of Arizona for educational purposes.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of attendance during the covid 19 pandemic Old Tucson has closed their doors and ownership has passed to the county. The future of the site is still being reviewed by the supervisors.
